Start cleaning em everyday if you can or as often as you can until the flies are gone. Also pour an urn of hot water and a bucket of sanitizer down each sink every day, that’s where they can live as well. We had a bad fly problem and I got rid of them by doing this

also scrub out floor drains and pour hot water down them and put ice in them at end of day to keep them from using tjrm for a breeding ground.

We try to take it out as often as possible and wash it out once a week or more often if it smells☺️
mikejwb 2 points 2y ago
Do you clean them every week? I have never had this problem.
GroundbreakingSwan58 1 points 2y ago
they get cleaned for sure twice a week during the night shifts
mikejwb 1 points 2y ago
Best I can say is clean them when you get them super dirty then.
GroundbreakingSwan58 1 points 2y ago
We try to as much as we can, unfortunately enough there’s not always time for us to do so

Trash cans like regular customer use trashes or the bins that get dragged to the dumpster?
GroundbreakingSwan58 1 points 2y ago
the ones we take out to the dumpsters
astivana 1 points 2y ago
Yeah, that’s super not okay and absolutely should not be happening.

Every store I have worked at has kept their cans in the back room.
GroundbreakingSwan58 2 points 2y ago
The store I work at has always kept them outside up until recently, same with a bunch of stores around us

We rinse ours out with scalding water every week, and some weeks we straight up use 50-gal liners. Since our regular trash bins are already double-bagged, the 50-gal liner hardly ever gets dirty, so we only change it out once a week. Zero fly problem.

My old store (as in last week when I quit) had a horrible fly problem too and we didn’t bring the trash in. Idk what it is this year. They were always dead in the RTD case and are constantly landing on syrup pumps. It’s so horrible I’m surprised no customers have complained (at least when I was there)
