If you took option 3, the separation package, and you were told you are eligible for rehire, you very much are not. SMs are specifically instructed not to rehire you. So, if you took this option because you felt you were unable to be recalled from LOA because of covid, and needed to have the time off to quarantine and keep your family safe, tough shit, according to DMs. You were lied to. You are very much ineligible for rehire. I just thought you all should know the truth. Source: I accidentally rehired someone who took option 3. I had no part in the options, but I am sorry.

It’s maybe true for your district, but not for the whole company. My store already rehired 2 people who took option 3.
TWKern013 points2y ago
Same.
kayanneos2 points2y ago
Same actually

More details? What happened after you rehired said partner? And what do you mean by “terminated?” That’s not an option when separating a partner. It’s either voluntary or involuntary, then goes from there - V-pay, V-career, I-deficient performance, etc. Why is your DM that involved in you staffing your store? I have so many questions.

I was specifically instructed not to hire people who had taken the separation package. I had a question about rehiring the individual so I asked my DM. That's all I feel comfortable discussing.
shanny_rhea9 points2y ago
I doubt that this is company direction. DMs rarely are involved in the hiring/staffing process. After contacting PCC, rehiring is typically at the SMs discretion.
It sounds more like the partner had a previous history that the DM was aware of. Or your DM isn’t making professional decisions. Or anything other than “anyone who took preference 3 was lied to about rehire eligibility.”
mykotman127 points2y ago
Stop assuming that the whole company is like that, just because your DM said so. Maybe your DM doesn’t want you to hire people who took option 3, but that’s not true for the whole company. The paperwork specifically said that any partner who chose option 3 will be eligible for rehire later on. My store already hired 2 partners who took option 3 and my district hired even more.
Stop scaring partners on here. That’s not something anybody needs right now (especially from SM, if you even are one).

I think OP is just trying to stir the pot and likely not a store manager. None of what they posted makes any sense. No way they are a store manager and are surprised the system shows someone no longer with the company as “terminated” or has such a limited understanding of the word.
mykotman122 points2y ago
I think OP is just a barista who took option 3 and tried to get the job back but didn’t get hired back so they are pissy
lebrellj1 points2y ago
It's not scaring partners. My SM had three partnera (1yr, 6 yr, 10 yr) all who put in two weeks recentlu and all had their shifts fucked with so they were told they were no longee hireable. This is a trend, even if it's not a policy.
throwaway12093409872 points2y ago
How do you know???
TWKern011 points2y ago
They don’t.
mamma_burrito1 points2y ago
Our DM has made it clear we are not hiring them back, but I’m also certain it’s not company wide. Our DM is just awful like that. Her and our SM are in each other’s pocket.
ashtonmil1 points2y ago
bruh are you kidding
TWKern011 points2y ago
They’re wrong.

TWKern011 points2y ago
It’s not true

Forgot to mention, you show up in the system as terminated.
_Pulltab_2 points2y ago
Anytime someone leaves a company, for ANY REASON they are terminated. There may be reason codes associated with the termination, but at the end of the day, in an HRIS system, you are Active, Inactive (on leave) or Terminated.
