Rude a$$ customer (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MommaX2Barista
So I’m a new partner... just coming up on 1 month and while I’ve been told I’m doing well, I know I still have A LOT to learn. First off, I so appreciate the customers and partners that come in and understand that I’m still learning but committed to getting their order right.

However, this chick came in tonight and orders a Carmel frapp w/ toffee nut syrup and an Affogato shot. Haven’t made one of those before. So I get guidance, we were super busy, and as You hand it to her she says “ well I can already tell you you’re going to have to remake it”. She takes a sip and says “ yeah that tastes like shit”. So I apologize and remake it as she continues to complain about how bad it was, and saying this next one will probably be the same. She again hands it back. “ don’t you know what you’re doing??”

She asks for the manager, bitches me out, manager remakes it while she’s outside and sends her boyfriend/husband in to get it. Manager apologizes to me.

Like for real, I’m sorry I made it wrong. I apologized. I don’t need your rude ass, condescending attitude. Makes me feel defeated. Has anyone else

honestly, i think i speak for all of us when we say we’ve been there in one way or another. rude customers come and go all the time but i promise the good customers outweigh the bad. i’m sorry you had that experience :/ i wish i could say it’ll be the last but you got this and i wish you the best of luck ❤️

Sadly, this happens a lot, and I always feel so bad when I see customers like this. I worked at SBUX for a year, and some of my most noticeable were:

* A customer's husband came in and ordered incorrectly, asking for mocha instead of white mocha. 30 minutes later the wife comes in, with her pajamas on, cursing me out for intentionally making her drink wrong, when, in reality, the husband just didn't know what to order
* A customer who blamed me for being late to church, since she decided to wait in a 15 car deep drive thru line, and complained when I handed her the white mocha she ordered, since it wasn't "brown enough". Refused to allow me to remake it as a regular mocha
* A customer who apparently asked a green bean to only warm up his pumpkin loaf "slightly" and the green bean didn't hear the "slightly". Customer then came up to me and told me that because of this, it was the "F\*\*\*ing worst SBUX" he had ever been to. Refused to allow me to give him a new piece that wasn't as hot, and refused to let me give him a recovery card
* A regular who, rather than just mentioning it the next time she came in, wrote a letter to the store complaining how she ordered a tea with one tea bag on the side, and never got the tea bag on the side

And, unfortunately, many, many, many more. I find it best just to laugh it off once they leave. The way some people act is so sad, but also comical too.

Yeah dude, it's always rough. I had a customer this morning who was asking for weird modifications (dark cocoa almondmilk foam on a hot tea like?!?) and being extremely rude when I was just trying to understand her and give her what she wants. Water off a ducks back. You did your best and she still decided be nasty, for no reason. Some people like to bully service workers, and that's a reflection of themselves. She doesn't deserve your energy, try to reflect and then move on :)

Girl someone came in today and ordered a “Coconut Mocha Macchiato” today, which is not on our menu or POS and something I’ve NEVER heard of, and when I tried to clarify she got pissed at me so I do the only thing I can think of and rang her up for an iced caramel macchiato with sub coconut milk and with mocha drizzle instead of caramel.

She goes to the SSV on bar and starts complaining about it and he makes it because he’s actually heard of it before and it turns out it was once on the menu. Come to find out she’s a disgraced fired SM from our location because she sucked at her job. Go figure

Wow... clearly her personality hasn’t changed! I guess as they say “you can’t fix ugly!”

BTW... what is a coconut cloud macchiato? I would have TOTALLY rang her up the exact same way! Makes sense to me! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah! Anyway apparently I had the right idea but it’s 1/2/2 for T/G/V white mocha pumps instead of mocha. Then your coconut milk and ice. And then the shots and then caramel AND mocha drizzle on top. It’s supposed to be really good but idk I’m too traumatized to try it right now 😂

Thanks! I’ll be prepared if someone orders at my store!!! Maybe my customer won’t say it tastes like “shit” 🤣 🤣

She’s obviously an awful (sub?)human, just unnecessarily mean.

Horrible. People can be horrible. I would like to see her last one hour at The Buck during peak.
