As of September 14, masks are required to be worn in all of starbucks across Canada. The exceptions are to licensed stores where the parent company can decide if masks are mandatory or just requested to be worn. There was an update about this and SMs should be aware and have appropriate signage up, as well as have communicated this change to their team. Bring it up with your SM and if they are non-receptive, contact your DM about it.

Hi! I'm in Alberta specifically a city where its a bylaw to wear masks in public. But i saw the notice on the 14th that across north America, it is mandatory for customers to wear a mask if they come in (i am not sure about drive thrus) and as far as I know, that hasn't changed. If a customer refuses though, the "rule" is to get them out asap (but I am not sure if that means that they get to jump the line) or they have to wait outside.
And i feel like the not giving away masks has to do with starbucks making it mandatory that customers need the mask before coming in.

masks are not government mandated in my province either, but yes as of sept 14 all starbucks across canada require masks upon entry to the store. i don’t believe they’re required in drive thru (i think that’s in the printout)
