Can customers stop coming in with no masks, yelling at me for wearing one, then ranting to me about how Covid is a hoax? This is a Starbucks in a grocery store, not Facebook where everyone buys your conspiracy bullshit. Please.

This drives me crazy. I haven’t been there to directly experience it, apparently we had someone come through our drive thru and was ranting to the person at the window about how the virus is a hoax and Starbucks is awful because they support BLM. The most I’ve seen is a guy who comes into the store wearing masks that say “this mask is useless” “mind-control device” and the latest was “socialism sucks.” He fortunately never says anything, but he has this look like he’s waiting for you to say something about his mask. I’m like dude, if you’re so against the masks then don’t come into the store. If you don’t like that Starbucks supports BLM don’t go to Starbucks. It’s really not that hard. I’m queer and because Chick-fil-a is known to be big on donating to anti-lgbtq organizations, I refuse to give them my money, but I’m not going to go through their drive thru and rant at the people working at the lowest level who very well could not agree with the overall company’s beliefs and have little to nothing to do with the ways the company spends their money.

It's so frustrating. My great aunt got sick and died of Covid and I got emergency evacuated from my study abroad program because of it. I try to say, well I'm a silly optimistic youth who doesn't think they'd ruin lives over nothing but all they do is shout over me about how great Trump is. This is a lot of people who come to my Starbucks and it frustrates me a lot and sometimes I'm scared they're going to get upset and attack me.

Oh I totally get that. For me it’s not even being so concerned about myself getting sick, my second job is as a caregiver for a child who has a super rare genetic disorder and has ended up in the ER from respiratory distress due to a seizure, so his family and I are all very concerned about what would happen if he gets COVID. His family understands that I have to work a second job, but it makes us all so nervous that I’m so exposed. Especially since my store is super close to a hospital.
