Dress code (self.starbucksbaristas)

soooo. How lenient is your stores with dress code? I’m sick of wearing jeans for an 8 hr shift when partners come to work in leggings and nothing is said to any of them... but I’m also the least confrontational person you will meet so I won’t wear them bc it would be just my luck to get called out by a shift or manager for wearing them... also a couple of my partners also have nail polish or acrylics... and yes they wear gloves.... I’m kind of just sick of wearing jeans and I know... first world problems... I’m sorry... but it just sucks because I want to break dress code because everyone else does but also do not want to randomly get introuble.

Test the waters with something similar on the same shift, go from there. Just make sure you dont wear any hazardous or extremely flashy clothing.

Bring a backup pair of pants and just test the waters. If others are getting away with it, it's likely you can too.

Honestly, our dress code is way too strict. When it's 100+ degrees outside, I should be able to wear shorts and not have to dish out more money for ugly ass Bermuda length ones when I have perfectly comfy shorter shorts (that are still an appropriate length, just not Bermuda length). I've honestly considered seeking out some indie café with a lax dress code just to have more than 3 items to wear since literally none of my shit fits dress code :/

black target jeggings. so comfortable and wash really nice for me, plus they look like regular black pants so no issues with dress code

There are other dress code approved options besides jeans.

Wanting to do something because everyone else does just seems to be a poor reason to do anything in life.

My stores are strict on it for some reason. I would wear whatever I wanted when we were drive thru only because I thought “who is gonna see me” and they still told me to follow everything including the color scheme
