Just a quick temperature question (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hi all! I work at a BarnesBucks...I had a guest ask for their drink extra hot today, which I know is a thing but I’ve never encountered. I steamed the milk to 180 degrees, but it seemed suuuuper hot. Can someone confirm if 180 is standard for extra hot, or if it’s something else? I don’t want to like seriously burn someone on accident because I don’t know lol

The extra hot setting on the Mastrena IIs is 170°, but I'm in Canada so standard extra hot could be different for you.

Do you use a mastrena? If so you can just hit the + button once you start streaming the milk and you won’t have to worry about the exact temp

160 is norm temp so I believe 180 is extra hot?

Our machines are 123 for kids temp, 152 for regular and 161 for extra hot. You have to manually hold the steam wand to get 180.

The Mastrena's default extra hot temp is 170
