To the partner who came through our drive thru today...(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by chey_si8
Shame on you.
You order 7 drinks in the drive thru instead of coming in, strike one. But you know, I can roll with that. I wasn't annoyed yet.
You refuse to show our DTW your ID to confirm you're a partner. Why are you giving us flack when you KNOW this is our job!! (Finally when pressed you pull out your driver's license). Strike two.
You pay with a roll of nickels. Seriously what is wrong with you?? Strike three. Please don't ever come back.
It doesn't really faze me when customers do things like this but I just feel that as a partner, you should treat other stores the way you want your store treated.
Rant over, enjoy your night.

Omg who hurt them 😭😭
chey_si8 [OP]17 points2y ago
The thing is, they seemed so peppy about it almost the whole time. Like that fake shit of "oh haha sorry about this haha" ugh
[deleted]25 points2y ago
That’s when I throw out a, “What store do you work at?” And call and talk to their manager.
Pro tip, pretend you’re a customer complaining instead of another barista so their manager cares.
chey_si8 [OP]12 points2y ago
I totally would have said something along those lines but I was on bar making their 7 drinks haha
merikkdraws12 points2y ago
A roll of nickels??? What’s even the point of doing that fsfd
chey_si8 [OP]10 points2y ago
I thought our DTW was going to go off on her lol
angeryacorn3 points2y ago
I’ve told people we can’t accept those without weighing them! It’s news to me that we can lol oops
merikkdraws4 points2y ago
I just don’t understand why you’d have one in the first place. Are they that one neighbor that gives out rolls of pennies for Halloween too? 😂
VanderLynde9 points2y ago
Some stores give them out with tips.
nobullshitplz2 points2y ago
To be honest I’ve never been directly told at my store to check IDs. I only learned about that update through Reddit. I don’t think it’s necessarily the best to assume everybody was told about that
chey_si8 [OP]4 points2y ago
Yeah I get that and the ignorance about it didn't bother me, because I learn about things thru Reddit before my store sometimes too. But I feel that after the new expectation was communicated to her and she still refused to comply until really pressed, that's more what I have a problem with
nobullshitplz1 points2y ago
That’s fair
[deleted]1 points2y ago
It was in the weekly update a couple weeks ago
nobullshitplz1 points2y ago
We got a new manager a few months ago who stopped printing out the weekly updates for us so I hardly ever see anything, and there’s hardly any time ever to look for stuff on the computer
hecaete471 points2y ago
Our new SM at my store stopped printing them and the computer is SUCH a dinosaur that I literally can't figure out how to get online on it RIP :/
sadboy08102 points2y ago
...atleast it was in a roll hate counting millions of nickels ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
asilva06222 points2y ago
I personally would have counted them unless it was a sealed roll that you get from the bank.

If said partner had her partner card on her phone you cant ask for ID. We all work at starbucks, so you know tips get rolled coins, money is money why cry over valid currency. I would rather get rolled coin than a hundred any day.
And why get angry about a 7 drink order. Shes a paying customer just like the car in front of her was and the car behind her is.
Do your job stop crying, because at this moment you became the Karen, not her.
thisisnotlorena8 points2y ago
Guess we found the partner 0.0
Simplyroro-5 points2y ago
Nope different state but truly shes just another customer do we all bitch and moan when we have large orders? Do partners not realize that these orders keep us employed?
hecaete472 points2y ago
The point is that, as stated in OP's original post (maybe you could take some ASU classes and improve your reading comprehension), that this person works for Starbucks, likely is well aware how important drive times are and how difficult large drive-thru orders are, and still chose to be an absolute pain in the most time-sensitive place to order, instead of placing a mobile order or coming inside. Treat others as you'd like to be treated. That partner likely has felt the pain of watching the daypart avg increase as large order after large order come thru DT, and yet did the exact same thing.
Simplyroro-3 points2y ago
Maybe you should take some economics classes ... or go work at a high volume store where 7 drinks are commonplace... bunch of crybaby baristas is what is happening.
