*TRENTA SIZED RANT and on mobile, pls don’t judge me for the format:(

i’ve read this thread for almost an hour and finally feel comfortable ranting, as this is my first ever reddit post. basically i’m complaining about the same stuff every other partner does. i was hired by target like beginning of may, i didn’t even apply to work in the starbucks but because i had previous barista experience that’s what they hired me as. and y’all.......it’s a nightmare. like i genuinely LOVE coffee. i love crafting it, i love teaching others etc. but lately everything is a hot fu**ing mess. since we opened up after the first wave of covid things have gotten worse. the summer was okay, people were showing up to shifts, we hired a great team, i was signed off to be a trainer and all that jazz. which has been cool because like i said i love teaching others about coffee. but literally the turnover rate is crazy. our target is always SO busy and it’s like ever since the manager of our manager has been making schedules, they’ll leave like GAPS OF TIME where NO ONE ELSE IS SCHEDULED. you all know that is like a nightmare you can’t wake up from. but then they call US in early or on our days off and wonder why people are so upset with them. finally i said enough is enough. y’all wonder why people quit so much because you do not care about our well being. you would rather berate us instead of properly scheduling people so everything can get done. we even had to stop making frappes at 8pm because it’s too much for one closer. they don’t care if the brewer isn’t working, they don’t care if the mastrena is about to blow up or some shit, they don’t care that i’m working ALONE with a line that stretch past the pizza hut. i’m literally in college full time, getting scheduled everyday almost but yet only getting 25 hours a week? make it make sense. anyways i’m so so so tired of it. i’m tired of being basically a shift lead but not getting a pay increase. and most of all i am TIRED KF THESE CUSTOMERS NOT WEARING A MASK, BEING SO ENTITLED, AND ALWAYS WANTING TO GULP DOWN 80GRAMS OF PURE SUGAR. im so close to going to a third wave coffee shop. i am only still here for the pay and my amazing manager who is struggling to keep us afloat...any advice on how to turn our store around slowly as a, basically, shift lead? i notice that we aren’t the only ones who are being mistreated by target, stand alones also struggle with this :(
