We can’t keep doing this. (self.starbucksbaristas)

There’s two main stores on my side of town. Us and another in a strip parking lot.

Not only did they open late but they also closed early and no one decided to tell us even though our SM is on vacation so their SM is our “acting” SM for the week. My friend is a SSV at the other store and she said all their shifts were cut down like okay... send us someone then?

We were so understaffed and unprepared. We usually die down around 5 on Sundays with a car here and there but since the other store closed at 6, we were busy up until close. Oh yeah and I had 3 part coverage with 2 lunches to run after 4:30. The freezer order was massive and took forever to put away, counts needed to be done, pull, cold brew, cleaning, and normal closing things.

Scheduled until 8:30 and somehow got out at 9. I was 5 hours into OT. And I have to be back at 6:30 today.

For the love of god, I’m burnt out.

Love, a tired SSV

I cried almost every day this week and I’ve been a shift for 14 years. Since we don’t have an R1 anymore and we almost never have a designated customer support, the ENTIRE workload falls on me. My baristas have to stay put on bars and DT bc we are so busy. From 5-1:30 I do every single dish in our massive high-volume store, every single backup, every shred of trash—- all while doing oven almost non-stop. I can’t do my sandwich pull until almost time to go home and the PACKED trays of food never thaw. I have to rush the order because we’re so busy I don’t have much time to dedicate to it anymore. It’s a nightmare. I can’t keep going like this.

Working the weekends is atrocious lately. Plus we have so many new people or those not confident on bar. There was one day I was running the shift, training someone on bar, all while I WAS THE BAR PERSON. I almost handed in my keys that day.

Yes weekends have been nuts.

I guess people don’t have any thing better to do than come to Starbucks 🙃

I had someone throw a cappaccino at the espresso bar right in front of me Saturday and on Sunday a man held up our drive through until the police came on and then he came back again after I left so the police came back. I am so tired.

By held up I mean stopped traffic, no weapons used.

I am absolutely exhausted and fixing to walk into a 9 hour shift cuz clean play. $13/hr is simply not even close to enough for this kind of stress.

Hahahaha it’s $11 for me. 9 plus hour shifts have just been the norm fo us hey?
