Tired (self.starbucksbaristas)

I just started maybe less than a month ago. I previously worked at a pretty busy establishment very similar to this one so I get it. I don’t have a day off, I have two days of school in the middle of the week so other than that I just work. I’m actually pregnant right now, and working there is literally making me throw up. (Smells, sights, everything) Lol but ya so I’m just tired and wanted to rant because everyone always calls off the day of and then if I ask for one day off in advance, it’s a huge deal and I feel bad for asking. (Only have asked once needed to take my pup to the vet). My coworkers run around stress about who can take it but when someone calls off the morning of it’s fine.. all of my coworkers hate their jobs which makes it a little hard to come in and be confident about my position. We are the busiest store in my area and it’s super tiring. Ok. Sorry. Bye. Lol

Rather than asking for a day off, talk to your SM about changing your availability and give yourself the same day or two off each week. Maybe your school days if there's only 2.

I have Tuesday off every week and I schedule all my appointments, run all my errands, treat myself or relax on that day. It's good to have time set aside for yourself.

I’ve been thinking about doing that for so long. I’m so nervous to change my availability, because I get asked to come in earlier and take other shifts all the time. (When I have school) thank you for this though. Maybe will build the confidence too next week! Lol

That's the thing, even when I want the hours, I never pick up shifts on my day off. Any other day, any time, but I have to have time for the rest of my life.

It's a little restricting, but since I only take one day off I don't feel so bad about it. Again, just something to consider.
