Does any else’s knees/legs/hips hurt when working window? Like the constant turning back and forth I swear makes my knees ache so bad

I don't work window but my knees keep giving out doing closing SSV duties this week. I heard something pop and my vision went black when I was crouched at the safe. THIS JOB IS PHYSICAL and I feel beat up.

Yes and even the hips.... my store got rid of ALL OUR IMPACT MATS. SM SAID ITS NOT REQUIRED FOR PARTNER SAFETY AND IT IS THE REASON WE HAVE A GNAT ISSUE.... ugh

Report her to OSHA. She’s violating basic OSHA guidelines.

Same! More like no one cleaned them, but instead of making people clean them we just got rid of them. We have super slick tile so even in non-slips I still slip.

yeah that’s pretty bullshit. the gnat problem can probably be solved through your drains, but the mats are the only relief partners have from spending 4-8 hours walking on concrete. that is absurd

I've never even seen impact mats at both the stores I've worked at (since January). Wonder if our new sm+dm will introduce them

Since Dec 2019 they are no longer required according to my DM.

I get leg cramps when I get home on days working window, like when your toe keeps trying to stay flexed in one pose. I also get some horribly ripe shoulder pain from having to hold those cups out the window. Yeah it gets really laborious

Y’all are my people. I had ACL and meniscus surgery a few years ago after I tore them both. My knee has been fine all these years until I started working window, it’s starting to pop again & gets swollen & literally my entire legs ache after 8 hours working window, so im worried 😭

Ahh I’m really scared because I just twisted my knee - which is really weak from an old injury that continued to give out every few years - and it got swollen and gets frozen and hurts sooo bad I have to be careful putting weight on it ...and I return to work from COVID LOA in the middle of October lol and I injured it at the beginning of September and it’s still not better 😬 to say I am scared is an understatement and I think my anxiety and body are trying to tell me something lol

I had to leave a DT partly store because of this. It’s not as bad now, but for sure still there. Repetitive motion like that can really mess with you. If your DT window is pretty separate from the rest of the store, some small stretches may help. Don’t be afraid to bring it up to your ssv or sm as well if it seems like it’s hurting too much. Even at my current cafe store, when my knees or hips start acting up (one side of my body is higher then the other, so they get fatigued often), they ask what position would be best and stick me there.
