I got a hot as FUCK double smoked bacon thrown at me(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by BatWeary
Everyone wanted me to post this lol so here it is
So I was on front register and after I help a really rude woman, the lady in line behind her was holding a sandwich bag. Obviously, something was wrong so I help her, and before I could even say anything she opens the sandwich and says there’s something on it. I looked at it and so did my manager, we both saw nothing unusual. The lady had shoved it in my hand before I could say anything and it was still pretty warm from when she got it (mobile order) and it hit a burn I already had which hurt like hell. It was literally just a piece of fat from the bacon. We explained this to her, and went ahead and remade it. Well, we hand her the new sandwich and since we were by the hand off station where we had no plastic screen, she takes it out of the bag and claims it was burnt to a crisp (it was browned on the bottom and that’s literally it) and complains about getting burnt, but you know she willingly grabbed the sandwich so. And just tucking hauls it at me and we definitely wanted to do something about it but she left before anyone could process what happened
(lol I have another story from that day about a POS customer if you want it too)

This is CRAZY. Customers are so entitled bro. (...👀 Another story?)
radpandaparty50 points2y ago
If I was a billionaire I would pay people to stand in stores and call customers out on their shit.

it was a ROUGH day

Just a reminder that it's our employers, and their class as a whole, this exploitative relationship, between us and their cash cows, that reinforces this behaviour

Today a guy threw a lid at this really sweet 17 yo girl we have. She seemed a bit shook up.
Kinda hoping I see him again. It wouldnt be hard at all to piss him off. He gets really angry about people wasting cups and lids. I'd literally just have to pop the lid off his drink and grab a new one.
Its my last two weeks here. 🤗
(He called up corporate because one of my previous SSVs gave him a new cup and lid when he got his refill to complain shes wasteful)
Punloverrrr19 points2y ago
Lmfaoo. He's going about it all wrong, but chain restaurants like Starbucks, are indeed *very* wasteful and as someone who cares a lot about the environment and gets really annoyed and frustrated when I see garbage in the forest or rivers, it also bothers me how wasteful these stores are. I mean they have a huge bin that gives us the illusion of recycling with the sorting diagram on the cans, but it's literally just a big ol' garbage bag and no matter where you toss the things it all lands in the same pile.
Critical509 points2y ago
Well, they're supppsed to be for recycling..
It isnt our fault customers cant take 5 seconds to read.
bryceofswadia18 points2y ago
Environmentalists who attack average people for wastefulness instead of attacking corporations are literally the worst. You’re really gonna yell at someone for using a plastic straw but ignore the company making them?
Punloverrrr1 points2y ago
They literally aren't though, it's all one big bag. That's what I'm talking about, you don't put plastic and paper together
braelynnbarista2 points2y ago
Our trash goes to a sorting center and recyclables are sorted from trash
katsandboobs18 points2y ago
Or he could go to a more eco friendly coffee shop?? But they probably wouldn’t put up with his bs. 😂

It’s stories like this that make me happy I only have to deal with half naked crack heads. Least I know what’s wrong with them.

this comment wins

So I’m not quite sure but that definitely sounds like assault
lilBalzac12 points2y ago
It is already assault when they flip out verbally if you feel reasonable fear from their outburst. Happens to service workers frequently. When they burn you that is assault and battery, and potentially other crimes depending on jurisdiction. They can be arrested for this, and also could be sued in civil court for money damages.
Unipanther36815 points2y ago
More stories! And wow lol. That's pretty crazy
gjroberts9312 points2y ago
Fuck that bitch for real.
kidneyqueen5 points2y ago
I could never handle Starbucks because of stories like these. My mental health and weekly therapy sessions could never keep me afloat lol
Exhausted_Titan5 points2y ago
Haven’t gotten anything thrown at me yet but getting physical with me is where I draw the line. We’re all human. I hate hearing shit like this but I’m glad you posted it. We need to be able to get this kind of shit off our chest.
wandering_mind_5 points2y ago
All these people acting up...I’m about to be involuntary promoted to customer. Man some people are insane.
G37_is_numberletter2 points2y ago
That’s assault, yo.
yellowhouse18882 points2y ago
tbh that’s one of my biggest fears! I always worry that some customer will throw a drink in my face or something similar.. I don’t know how you kept your cool!!
lemonjuicepulp1 points2y ago
Eh manager would’ve just coddled her and given her 5 more sandwiches plus a free Frappuccino

So a couple of years ago I had a customer who was obviously having mental health issues confront me while holding a hammer. He had touched me and I told him very firmly that he was not to touch me and afterwards he did it again. So I filled out an incident report and my manager had a conversation about his behavior (we’d also had a couple of customers complain that he made them uncomfortable, he’s a loud close talker with no personal boundaries) and that if it happened again he would be banned from our store. The following Saturday he came in to “talk” to me knowing my manager didn’t work on Saturdays. I initially went to the back room but I saw him pick up his drink from the hand off so I cautiously went back out. He rushes up to me coming behind the line with a hammer asking why I was telling lies about him. After I told him to back up and I didn’t lie I went back in the back and he leaves. A few minutes later someone came to tell me he was in handcuffs in the back of a police cruiser. A customer saw what was going on and called the cops who happened to be right up the street when the call came in. Eventually an ambulance showed up and took him away. Gotta love SBUX!
PS I have seen him since at my new store and he appears to have his mental health under control. As a person who struggles with mental health I understand that sometimes things can go sideways so I have empathy for him and am nothing but polite and professional when he comes in. You never know what someone is going through so kindness can really go a long way!
