Green bean here who learned yesterday the very valuable lesson to always triple check the whipped cream tops for O-rings. (i.redd.it)

I’ve had this happen even when there were O-rings in the cap. Sometimes it’s a gamble lol

Seconding this. We had a few recently that did this even with everything all proper. Not sure why. Think they've been replaced by now but honestly I also haven't worked in like a week so I forget.

SAME. Now when I charge the whips I do it over the sink so I can drop them in case of disaster

This is why I would tell all my trainees “If you build it then you better put a ring on it. O O O!”

^^^ this barista trains

I have so many of those little memory phrases [5+5= FEELIN ALIVE, to make a keg]
[All fruits are Five. AFAF!]
[sEvEn DaYs... said in a creepy voice about dry inclusions]

Oh man, I would’ve really appreciated this in my training. I was basically just told the recipe and shown once but the person demonstrating for me failed to mention that I needed to check, and since at a quick glance most of them had the rings, I assumed I was safe. 🙃

The song also applies to building the pumps. The blue ring better be between the pieces.

Hahaha oh man RIP my friend. Every time I train a green bean when it comes time to make whip I also go over like six times “And what do you do before you screw on the lid?!?” I’ve been done dirty too many times before by those damn O rings 😂

I’m a green bean too and this exact thing happened to me yesterday!!!!!!
LeoTheNinja220 5 points 2y ago
Sometimes u gotta learn the hard way, hardest way is when a customer is in front of you and it exploded everywhere. Definitely not talking about me.
Kdeabill [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Oof, this hurt my soul. Luckily it was during a lull while I was on bar and cafe was empty but I can only imagine how scarring that experience was.
Kdeabill [OP] 4 points 2y ago
Also, shout out to my SM and SSV for being totally chill about it and assuring me that it happens to everyone while I was profusely apologizing for the mess.

My store is really good at keeping the rings in the whips but I got borrowed at a different store that isn’t and I kept forgetting to check and got covered with whipped cream three times. That same day a pitcher of iced coffee fell from the shelf above and completely soaked me. Very interesting day.

It’s a right of passage 😂😂😂
skagod02 1 points 2y ago
Oof, fellow green bean and I did this mistake (i was told check for the white piece, i thought they meant the center dots not the gaskets) but it didn’t explode - just a bit of splatter - and my ASM fucking scolded me about it. F
interyx 2 points 2y ago
That's some BS. Every barista has done this and learned the hard way about checking the seals.
JoWhitLux 1 points 2y ago
Our poor bean did it back to back! Funny/not funny
cilantroprince 1 points 2y ago
we have 1-2 year employees that still make this mistake 😂
conn663 1 points 2y ago
the worst is spilling chai or mocha down your apron..
hereironically 1 points 2y ago
Ahhh that’s always the best.
ittybittybakerkitty 1 points 2y ago
Oof been there
crzyshiba 1 points 2y ago
Your green apron is still green ... mine is all faded
annaconda33 1 points 2y ago
Oh man that happened to me at least twice lmfaoo I had to work the rest of my shift with a smelly apron on
Kdeabill [OP] 1 points 2y ago
I was so lucky that it was the day I brought both my aprons accidentally, but my shirt reeked all day (this happened at like 7am and I wasn’t able to go home to change until like 4pm)
