About the covid questions (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by gomlnicole
So my SM decided to bring back one of our shifts this week (after 14 days isolation) bc their mom (which they live with) tested positive for covid. She still has covid. My shift took the questionnaire when they got here and it said to send them home. So they called our DM and SM and they BOTH said that they're OK to stay bc they self isolated "with no symptoms" (even though we know someone can be asymptomatic). Is this ok? I feel really unsafe and I know other partners do as well. And I have a feeling the only reason my SM did this is bc they're desperate for shifts. They decided to train a partner to be a new shift right before she left for maternity leave and sent another one on a week long vacation (which they deserved).

Yeah my manager basically coerced me not to get a test even tho my boyfriend and roomate were being tested cause he doesn’t believe in covid. He genuinely thinks his little cold he had in january was covid and that it’s not a big deal. I think it’s a trend with a lot of managers right now, cause making money is more important

Yea im just wondering what I can do, like would partner resources even care?

YES! I just send a partner home yesterday because they had not received their second negative test after traveling out of state. We called PCC and our SM to make sure, but when that Covid Coach says no, I say go lol.

You can call PCC. But likely nothing will happen.
Corporate is about money. Your SM obviously doesn’t have your back.

also you have a decision - can you work in a place that doesn’t take this seriously? If so then mask up, wash up and hope for the best.

If i didn't need ASU I would've taken option 3 back in June. Its just unfortunate how low my opinion of this company has fallen.
