Two Weeks in and I already want to quit semi-rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sIowrain
I don’t know if the training at Starbucks is intentionally fast paced and very very basic in terms of learning cold and hot bar, but it seems like the training I went through didn’t help me a whole lot. Luckily I know someone who is a barista (works at a different store) has been giving me pointers and stuff, which seems to have worked better than the training itself.
I finished my training officially about three days ago and although the job itself has gotten easier, it seems like my coworkers aren’t exactly helpful. I’ve had two incidents where my coworkers have been rude to me and I mentioned it to my ASM and they said they’d talk to them. I’m really enjoying the job, but it just seems like I’m isolated at my store.

I'm sorry your current store isn't making you feel welcome, that should not be happening. Training is basic, especially on bar, we expect green beans to ask A Ton of questions and I always try to reassure anyone new it's ok to ask questions, just try to retain as much as possible.

If it's at all possible, maybe see about tranfsering stores?

i was thinking about transferring but i think you can’t transfer until after three months. hopefully i make it at least the three months, i enjoy the job, but the environment isn’t the best at my store

I'm sorry. I've been training partners for 7 years. I tried a full store (24 partners) all alone. I do think, the training itself is so bad and whoever is training you should adapt and change things to make it easy for you.
Promise you after a month (max) you'll feel much much better but I'm sorry . I'm always here to help you ☺️
