ADHD ex-barista here. I'm not gonna lie, it took me a long time to become comfortable on bar. But once I did, it was very rewarding. I learned to make my varied attention an asset. I don't really have much advice besides keep practicing and studying, but I want to assure you that it's very possible to become a champ on bar with adhd.

i have adhd too i was garbage at making drinks properly but once i started medication i got way better. i still get super stressed on cold bar and i fuck up drinks from time to time but i manage :,)

I have severe adhd as well and I am off my meds atm due to uninsured and money issues . Can you maybe put a sticky note of the shots/pumps for sizes on the hoppers at the bar? That has helped me a ton when I’m stuck on bar. My fellow partners are good about answering questions when I have them but having the little notes has helped me remember a bit better

I also struggled with sequencing when I started on bar :( firstly I want to say that something as small as simply being slow on bar shouldn’t be making your managers life harder if they’re a good manager so don’t let that get in your head. My best advice would be to pull out the first 4 stickers and set them up. Start on the first two and then take a look at the next two and make a plan. It can be harder to do this while alternating between cold bar and hot bar in the beginning but I think going by fours is the best step to larger sequencing.
I also found that a lot of the time it was difficult for me to sequence because I still had to mentally process and think about the recipe of the drink I had to make. So dedicate mastering a drink a day so the process becomes second nature to you and in a glance you now how to make the drink. Understanding each step in the process is key to understanding how to sequence. It will only get better with time don’t worry :)

you should try writing down notes when you can.

when I first started I wrote everything I thought was important down in a little notepad and some people thought is was weird but I didn't give a shit cause thats how I retain information 🤷‍♀️
