Seeking Advice-Transferring amid the Pandemic (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by jklmnopedy
I'm looking to move home, out of my current state, at the end of my lease 3/31. I tried to do this at the end of my last lease in 8/31 without luck due to the pandemic and looting in my hometown (a major city).

If you have had a successful transfer in the midst of 2020 chaos, do you have any advice? I really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance!

I put in a transfer 3 months ago, im moving across the country next week and my transfer still hasn't been approved by my DM.

God, I'm sorry to hear that. That sounds super frustrating and anxiety inducing. I hope your new store's DM can reach out to your current DM to help move things along.

Why don’t you call the DM and explain your situation? Did you find a store you are gonna transfer to? Did you talk to the new stores SM?

I have called him many times but he never answers me. Ive talked to my SM every day for the last month about it. I found a store, and talked to both the DM and SM of the district im moving too, its literally just my current DM holding me back and for no reason either. Im at great standing with my store, ive never been written up, I never call out, I'm never late. There's no reason it should be taking this long but it is.

I’ve been in the process of transferring for two months. It got to the point where im now on either stores schedule so that sucks but it’s really about locations and how busy y’all are🤷‍♀️

I transferred between 2 countries during this... it was super speedy tho because I knew my new manager already and they are hellllaaaa busy and needed people....

Ppc might be able to help if things aren’t moving along!

Thanks, hearing that it's been done during this, and on such a large scale, provides some relief.
