I once had a man at the store chant “milk man” at me over and over when I was picking up milk for the store

"the milk is not ready, and *you* are not ready for the milk!"
GrafixCard25 1 points 2y ago
Thank you. I was hoping for at least one person

One time when I worked for Dunkin I had to pick up 12 gallons. I was in uniform for work and an employee asked me, “ran out of milk?”. For some reason my socially anxious brain decided to make me respond, “no I just really like milk”.
Momisnotmyname 25 points 2y ago
I would have just assumed you were being sarcastic and had a good laugh.

Ahh all those math problems make sense now 😌

The area I'm in in the UK has since stopped this entirely, if we don't get a delivery we go till we are out. Then we simply shut.

I haven't got a single staff member that is willing to continue doing any runs, stock or milk, I think everyone is at their end limit now. It's a shame, once upon a time we all willingly worked hard for the better good, but now we've all lost the will and drive.

I like being able to go out for supply runs, although today it was a bit of a work out lol
Addy4play 1 points 2y ago
Here is always pee order and Lyft delivery.
Addy4play 1 points 2y ago
Agreed.
Zachamiester 1 points 2y ago
If only they paid you guys for doing stuff like that... maybe. Just maayyyyybe. People would be willing to participate.
Addy4play 1 points 2y ago
Doing what?
Daynabear 30 points 2y ago
I was once sent on a milk run for thirty 2% milks. I came back with 30 whole milks 🙃 because ya girl thought all milks have the same lid color coding. I was never sent in a milk run again 😔

i’ve done milk runs before but last time i had to get 30 gallons and it felt like everybody in the vicinity stopped what they were doing to watch me load the cart and now i’m NEVER GONNA DO ONE AGAIN
Rain_Rope [OP] 6 points 2y ago
I got 60 gallons today lol

Some people were staring at me when I had like 15 gallons in my cart and then they saw how much I had in my trunk when I opened it and laughed. Also some dude assumed I worked there bc why else would I be taking the milk out of the fridge??

today we opened back up after two weeks. our ice machine wasn't working, so my SM sends a girl on an ice run to the QuikTrip across the street. tells her verbatim "buy them out." well, maybe you can argue that you shouldn't take it literally, but the SM and this barista have a complicated relationship (our SM hates her lol) so she was just trying to follow orders.

comes back with like, 100 bags of ice. idk the exact amount. came up to 320 bucks. my SM was pissed, but when reminded of what she told the barista..... she didn't accept her mistake and continued being rude and passive aggressive. she made the barista bring in all that ice and put it up by herself. the other baristas felt bad for her and we didn't have many people so some of us chipped in to help and SM couldn't say anything.

that was probably more of a rant than anything BUT point is, supply runs are always an interesting time lmao i've never been on myself but i want to!!
Rain_Rope [OP] 4 points 2y ago
That's the SM's fault and her being rude about it is totally inappropriate. If you are sending somebody on a supply run, you should be pretty specific about what you want. Especially if they aren't a shift, you shouldn't expect them to understand the logistics of what supplies you actually need and it's totally valid for her to take that literally. When I went today I got a list of exact amounts of things to get.
stevebuckyy 4 points 2y ago
Exactly! None of us expected her to react so negatively. Like, she could have told her how much to spend, how many bags of ice specifically to get; not just "buy them out" because that isn't helpful. No one likes this manager tbh..

This literally happened to my store the other day.
Craftyallthetime 1 points 2y ago
Most of my co-partners at my home store don’t have a car, so this has happened more than once.
kylelovershrek2 1 points 2y ago
why does it say 2% milk and not whole i thought everyone knew that any milk that is not whole is unacceptable?
itsmekendar 1 points 2y ago
I love that you went to Aldi. Probably cheaper than what we normally get!
