Deployment (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hey guys, I’m just curious to know how many people you all have on the floor during peak and maybe what the deployment is like. We have been struggling since we opened fully the past few months we’ve gotten the business back but our manager isn’t scheduling like how we used to pre-Covid. We have 6 people on the floor almost all week days during peak (dto, dtw, r1/cs , warming, bar , bar support ) it’s a shit show right now. Not only do our customer connection scores and drive times suck but my partners are getting so burned out. Are we the only store going through this or is it a company wide thing ?

I cried every day for a week because of this and I’m a 15 year partner with tons of experience. I am a shift and we have no Customer Support and no R1 now. The other partners are slammed on bar and DT so every single dish and back up and stocking need and placing the order and giving out breaks and literally everything falls on me. It’s impossible to complete even the BARE store needs much less sanitizing high-touch areas or cleaning well. It’s a total mind fuck. We have had to close our lobby due to staffing and last week I even had to call out to people in line at the register that I was unable to take orders at the moment. We used to be able to bump mobile offline to catch up but they took that away. We just can’t keep up like this.

As a shift I feel this so hard. Handing over the keys to night shift I feel so bad , nothings ever done idk the last time we did drains. Getting the pull done before 11 is a joke. I’m running all over the place, there’s only so much supporting I can do at this point.

Pull being done late means it’s never thawed. Come in the next day and set them out to thaw. It’s never ending.

They took away turning of mobile orders?! That’s going to kill us during the Christmas season we were still struggling with mobiles turned off.

Oh and I’m also on oven because it’s the most accessible area to the back room. It’s horrible.

Last summer we’d have 7-8 highly experienced baristas during peak. This summer, it’s 4-5 baristas during peak and they’re all brand new. Our business has increased MASSIVELY since last year. Absolutely no sanitizing or cleaning happens at any point and several times a day, we have 20+ people standing in the lobby waiting for mobiles. We can’t keep any partners longer than a month or two. I want to die after every shift

Company wide. We used to have 12/13 of us during peak, now we have 4 or 5 and I have no words to describe it.

We have 4-6 when we used to have 7 or 8. Lobby is open and we also have to run curbside orders outside and it is IMPOSSIBLE. Our floater is usually juggling CS, register, phone, bar support, curbside and brewing, but we usually have to put those responsibilities onto someone else where it is also almost impossible to get done 🙃

How much do you do a day?

Today we ran peak with 4 people, 5 yesterday. It sucks. Been like this since June. My shift today said she hopes she gets fired, that's kinda where our morale is.
