Customers reaching around, past signs, and even *while* being told not to do so, to move and grab at drinks to see if theirs is in the collection of drinks at handoff.
I lost count of how many drinks I’ve had to get remade following by washing up (again), just this week.

Lol a kid, maybe 12, came up to me on front the other day, sipping on a grande frappuccino and said we made his drink wrong. I asked him what was wrong with it and he said it was supposed to be a caramel frappuccino but it tasted wrong. I looked at the label - there was an add shot and 2 pumps cinnamon dolce. I asked him if the that was what he ordered and he said no. So then I asked if he was 'R.C.' and he said no. I said so you're drinking someone else's drink? He just looked at me blankly so I said you picked up a random drink and just started drinking it? Can I see your order? Showed me his phone and he hadn't even sent it in. It was still in the order screen.

Yup. I had a guy reach for a drink, put his paw ON TOP of the cup and grab it, ask if it was his, I told him it was for Sharon, and he removed his hand. I then made strong eye contact, took the lid off the cup and dumped it.

There’s also the grabbing a drink, asking if it’s theirs, and after finding out that it’s not and that their actual drink is dramatically different either in size, cold instead of hot, or a matcha frapp instead of a caramel one.

Happens way too often.

Our drinks sit away from the hand off area, and we retrieve the drink only after asking the customer their name and being acknowledged.

During the busiest times we can have 20+ drinks at handoff and 10 customers in the store with a line outside. If there was a way to put the drinks behind or to the side of me… and still keep the supplies out of the way… hmmmm...
