Costco gives out benefits at 30 hours.
Walmart does.
Chipotle has insurance and education benefits.

I would start documenting things now. Call for a meeting with the the DM. Start applying for other jobs.

Make her life hard - question everything. Write it in th book. You have nothing to lose - fired? unemployment. You aren’t using your medical
benefits now it sounds like bc you can’t afford the procedures? You have nothing to lose.

I'm going to add to this comment something an attorney told me years ago that has served me well in every aspect of my life.

IF YOU DON'T DOCUMENT IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!!!

Write it down. Get a notebook or just put it in your phone. Date. Time. What happened. Use as much detail as possible. List any witnesses.

Take pictures (where applicable) I've documented notes posted by the SM and the condition the store was left in.

Ask for clarification in writing. Email or text. Ex: Hey, just to clarify you want me to....

If you live in a one party consent state use an app, I use Cube ACR, to record phone conversations.

Be quiet about it. The only person who needs to know you're documenting is YOU. I have yet to need anything I've collected but I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I’m sorry love, I empathize with your pain and stress trust me I do. This job is NOT worth it. They can replace you next week if you decided to quit. There are so many better jobs for you out there, even if you get a temporary one that doesn’t pay as well until you find a better paying job will be better than this. Working at Starbucks tends to become your entire life and you lose yourself and what you’re happy about if you take on too much. Literally leave. I’ll pray for you that you also find much better and happier opportunities for yourself. Don’t waste your time here. I’m putting in my 2 weeks this week so you’re not alone!

I went through a situation with a very shitty SM and a lot of my partners called partner resources and they documented and reported everything we said. Our DM got involved due to us calling PR multiple times a week and now we have a new SM. Maybe getting a group to call PR and seeing if that helps at all?

I have always hated management in jobs similar to Starbucks whose whole(kinda) thing is to have a genuine connection with customers and have a great environment for them but get mad if your having fun on the job. I get if you’re just fucking around and not working but if you and your coworkers are doing your job and killing it, why can’t you talk?? Like I personally feel that people feed off our energy and if we’re having fun and vibing and whatnot, that just makes for better connections. Idk just my opinion on dumb management like this.
Sorry you’re going through this bs

Oh god I am so sorry. Any chance theres another store in your area you could ask about transferring to ?

\> get surgery to fix my chronic pain condition

get a doctor's note for breaks - I got one for breaks every two hours, and while I often pass it up on the 4.5 and 5 hrs, I need it for my 5.5s... and my SM was the same with that. they won't like the note, but they have to comply. Encourage other people to talk to their doctors as well, even if they don't have a medical need, the doctor's may sympathize with the work fatigue and help them.

it does sound like she's an exploitative betch, and I'm so sorry you're in this shitty situation. Get out of there, out of that store, out of starbucks in general. If they don't appreciate you, find somewhere who will, because it sounds like you work your ass off and they dont deserve you
