I mean, probably. But you could just give a piece of paper to your SM that identifies an end date. It doesn't need to have an explanation or anything.

I am not sure how much it would matter or if it is possible, but I want to have a record in my SM's file. When she is talking about other stores that she has worked at, it sounds like she has done something similar to a ton of other people, but no one has said anything.

If you have problems with you're SM, ask a partner to witness you handing in you're 2 weeks notice. Then you have back up and can't be he-said-she-said, you're butts covered.

You can always do both - a simplified one to your SM, who is the one who will have to put it in the system, and a longer, more detailed explanation to your DM.
