Life as a kroger starbucks barista (self.starbucksbaristas)

Here’s some bullshit for you. Not sure if it’s like this at “freestanding Starbucks” as we call them, but management is absurd. Our Starbucks manager left for a week of vacation while we are way understaffed with 5 of us working the kiosk from 5am-9pm every day. While she’s gone, Kroger management gives us a long list of reorganizing to do (no cardboard boxes in customer view, no dust on any surface, no unorganized drawers, etc). We get a new list from them every fucking day. Then she returns and whines about the smallest of things like a dirty sink and a late employee. Then... she’s going on a vacation for ANOTHER WEEK!! Literally two weeks after the last one!! Meanwhile, one barista takes educational leave & we are down to 4 of us this week... just in time for happy hour where I’ll work 2-9 alone. I’m screwed.

Our management is also shitty and we’re severely understaffed - also at a Kroger (Fred Meyer) location. Seems like the norm for most Starbucks’ though, whether they’re licensed or corporate.

Sorry bout your situation, pal! Hopefully happy hour goes smoothly for you.

I work at a kroger starbucks... we have been running on 3 people, one who has called in or left hella early all week. My lead is on vacation. Management has left me alone, probably due to my get effed attitude.
