Sbux sets the bar so low that things thatre common in real cafes seem fancy. Sbux is McDonald’s with more outlets.

I just wish we had the pointy mugs so we could actually do some latte art or something a little on the nice side for our customers.

Yeah I know I’ve worked with a lot of partners thatre interested in doing this kind of thing but I’ve never known sbux to be big nurturers of this kind of skill. It’s all about speed and numbers. Unfortunate really.

It depends on the store really. My last store was really good with teaching latte art and coffee tasting to anyone who wanted. My sm was really enthusiastic about this kinda stuff so it was great.

How ? Just how? I tried doing a heart latte today but I got a thicc pumpkin art looking like a lump of foam.

Seriously though, it looks very pretty.

I find flat whites are the best for practicing. You don’t need at much steaming as you might think on the whole milk, and the Ristretto shots pull with less bubbles ending up in the cup. Though, The new machines are what I have. I can’t remember the old ones because I wasn’t doing latte art then. The r/barista subreddit had some pours to watch and get the idea of it, it’s harder in the to go cups though.

It took me so long to get the foam to have almost no clumps in it it just takes a lot of time and patience but thank you so much!!
