sorry for format ig bc mobile also sorry for grammar i'm exhausted. I'm so god damn tired of my shift leads only ever putting me on window and dto. (drive thru orders for non drive thru partners). every fucking shift for the past 6 god damn months has been absolutely nothing but me on window. ive been at starbucks for over a year and transferred to this store mid quarantine (aka april) and i've gotten 40+ max of bar time since. I'm friends with almost everyone here including all my shift leads that work mids-close so i don't think its being done to be petty. one shift in particular only ever puts me on window and i come home every day after being on there for 4 hours (3 hours straight bc she sucks ass at giving tens at decent times) every shift or 8 hours straight like today (i worked at two stores today because i hate myself and was cashier half my shift at one and window the other half) i'm literally so fucking tired of it but it's such an annoying issue to make so i don't want to say shit even if they'd be understanding. i've barely gotten bar time in half a year so i'm not as good as i used to be so i feel so damn useless. no clue wtf to do but fuck i just want to do my damn job. my job is to make drinks that's why i applied. and before anyone says it my manager is the type to say "okay i'll talk to them about it" and never talk to them about it bc he's too scared of dealing with shit between coworkers and i just AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I was with you up until this part. I know as a SSV, I very much on purpose kept people off bar who felt like they had a right to it. Making drinks may be why you applied, but it’s only one aspect of your job.

Barista is just a job title. I highly doubt the job description only says “make drinks”.

i don't have a right to do it but i should at least be able to fucking try when they'd rather put people on bar that don't even know how to make a caramel macchiato after they've been at the store for over a year.

In our district the store managers fill out the entire day’s coverage chart for the entire day, every day. So the shifts don’t decide where people are deployed, it’s already filled in for them. They can make changes on the fly, but usually they keep it like it’s assigned. Maybe ask your manager to assign positions ahead of time so everyone gets variety.
