I heard yesterday from a partner in Seattle that Sbux was going to mention increasing pay in low-wage states today. I'm not working for today so I was hoping one of y'all would let us know if you hear anything. Gracias

Every state is low wage because in every state partners get paid min wage. Sure some baristas might be getting paid $15 an hour but that’s because min wage is $15 an hour and cost of living is a lot higher than in a state where min wage is $9 an hour.

All I’m saying that low pay states are ALL states so they should increase pay for every partner (which they will if they are actually gonna do it). Increasing pay for just some partners will be a suicide mission on their part because other partners who don’t get a raise will raise hell

I keep seeing people saw that everyone at Starbucks makes minimum wage but everyone at my store makes $1.20 more than our state minimum... are we the only ones?

I’m in Texas, where minimum wage is $7.25, and my store starts at $9.50

I have noticed that states with $7.25 minimum tend to start at about $9/hr. In states with higher minimums, sbux tends to pay the minimum. My NYC barista friends all make $15.02 with a $15.00 minimum, and my MA friends make $12 (with a $12 minimum). When I was in SC, starting pay was $9 with a $7.25 minimum.

We follow the federal minimum wage but all of the baristas start out about $2 above.

In Some states starbucks will pay more than min wage if min wage is super low (for example if it’s the same as federal min wage).

Minimum wage in my state is $10 though and federal is $7.25
