So it’s overpriced Steamed milk?
jams1015 75 points 2y ago
With extra whipped cream.
iqueefkief 6 points 2y ago
vanilla is in the recipe as well, maybe he doesn’t know how to order a steamer
darkwolf523 28 points 2y ago
No it’s not. Not anymore. They changed that
iqueefkief 4 points 2y ago
damn, quit working there 4 months ago after a 5 year run due to the pandemic. figures. customers prob don’t even notice the difference anyhow
darkwolf523 4 points 2y ago
Don’t think it matters. Then again, I don’t drink hot chocolate
strawbubbie_ [OP] 54 points 2y ago
for those wanting an update- we didn’t make the drink till they came to pick it up. turns out they wanted a white hot chocolate but didn’t know how to order one in the app ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
NapalmBarista 44 points 2y ago
did he come in for that steamed milk yet? what’d he say?
strawbubbie_ [OP] 98 points 2y ago
he wanted a white hot chocolate but didn’t know how to order one in the app lol
ahhpoo 74 points 2y ago
I literally just checked and there are only 3 items under the hot chocolates. One being the hot white chocolate. These customers lol
xEman26x 8 points 2y ago
You don’t understand how many times I’ve had customers complain about their item not being ready but they never clicked “confirm order”
scoot_the_poet 19 points 2y ago
Probably one of those doofuses who sees “mocha” and immediately assumes coffee
dahmerpalms 5 points 2y ago
Mocha is highly associated with coffee and used to be an actual type of coffee so it’s really not strange to assume that... lmao
isglitteracolor 5 points 2y ago
Had a lady order a mochaccino a few days ago. A latte. She wanted a plain latte.
howdudo 3 points 2y ago
lollll now that is a customer
jocaseyjo 13 points 2y ago
So they want a vanilla steamer?
Higgins_is_Here 30 points 2y ago
There's no vanilla in hot chocolate anymore.
sparkytheboomman 13 points 2y ago
Really? I’ve definitely made a lot of hot chocolates wrong then ._.
Higgins_is_Here 14 points 2y ago
Yeah, at least in the US. No worries, it's probably your boss's fault you don't know. But I wouldn't make it with vanilla anymore to line up with nutrition facts.
its_Lydia_ 12 points 2y ago
We just changed it like In the fall update so it’s kinda new. Also I often convince people to ask for it to have the Vanilla still cause it tastes so much better that way 😂😬
jocaseyjo 1 points 2y ago
Ahhhhh I see. I quit like a month before the fall launch lol
sugartea63 7 points 2y ago
It is in Switzerland
rudebii 2 points 2y ago
really? since when?
halfyellow 9 points 2y ago
hot chocolates don't get vanilla anymore 🙃
asst2therglmgr 3 points 2y ago
Nobody seems to know what these are anymore. I don't know that you can them through the app though?
jocaseyjo 4 points 2y ago
There’s one of the food delivery apps like Uber Eats or Postmates that has them listed in my area. They’re called “crème” in the app.
asst2therglmgr 3 points 2y ago
That makes sense. They’re actually rung in on reg with the “syrup creme” button.
BaroquesCafe 11 points 2y ago
This is definitely one of those things where they don’t know how to order it on mobile 😅
pres_ofcanada 9 points 2y ago
Can I trouble you for a glass of warm milk? It helps me go to sleep
haileybelle26 6 points 2y ago
he need some milk
Laneytann 5 points 2y ago
He need some milk
StarPeachSquid 5 points 2y ago
I’m surprised it doesn’t say “No 2% Milk”
rollerderbydyke 3 points 2y ago
HE NEEDS SOME MILK
fvckjvckie 3 points 2y ago
I would say that’s a vanilla steamer but we don’t even put vanilla in anymore 😭
cristianap36 2 points 2y ago
Oh yea its big brain time
kaiyohan01 2 points 2y ago
i have a regular that orders a venti hot chocolate, nf milk, no vanilla, no whip, stirred, no foam, at 170 degrees. and then she’d take that hot ass flavorless watery powder and down it... disgusting

He may not be aware that mocha is the chocolate. It is fairly common for people to think it is a drink and not a flavoring, meaning that it contains substantial amounts of caffiene.

When he comes, clarify with him what he is looking for and offer to remake the drink if my hunch was correct.

edit: and then I read the thread, the point to clarify still stands whether for white mocha or caffeine confusion.
teet_teet 3 points 2y ago
Ok so this is what I always assume— and EVERY SINGLE TIME the customer says “I KNOW” and I’m like ok.
mcdermottbobby 1 points 2y ago
Who hurt him?
rosegoldhiips 1 points 2y ago
I would let Alexander know he may have overpaid for what's just steamed milk with whipped cream 😭 but then again I don't think you can order just steamed milk through the app 😅
asst2therglmgr -72 points 2y ago
That's not very nice of the barista. You know it's steamed milk with whip yet you go ahead and charge them for a Hot Chocolate?
squidmammal 52 points 2y ago
He placed the order from his phone
asst2therglmgr -25 points 2y ago
I tend to skim and missed that.
Charimia -23 points 2y ago
Also, it’s steamed milk with vanilla and whip. Not just steamed milk.

Edit: Okay, it seems I’m wrong about the vanilla. I guess my sm either never got the memo or just didn’t care to make sure we were all told (a legitimate possibility). Our recipe cards even still have vanilla, but I’m not sure when they were updated last.
BaroquesCafe 15 points 2y ago
They actually took the vanilla out of the hot chocolate recipes 😶. In America at least
Charimia 1 points 2y ago
Oh, really? I wonder when, I don’t recall ever seeing that.
BaroquesCafe 2 points 2y ago
It was in one of the weekly updates, I believe around July-August time.
asst2therglmgr -23 points 2y ago
So a steamer. Not a hot chocolate.
Alohomora420 23 points 2y ago
It’s literally a mobile order. This customer placed the order himself
asst2therglmgr -22 points 2y ago
I literally already addressed this so maybe you should literally read comments before literally posting your own literally all willy nilly.
