Advice please! (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I currently at a certain very Christian chicken place, and up until two weeks ago was barely getting any hours due to the COVID scheduling they have in place. I started applying around for a second job, and I applied to Starbucks a handful of times with no response. I ended up having a retail store want me full time and talked to my manager at work about it.

She gave me my first raise Id had in the year that I’ve worked there and switched me to later shifts so I could get more hours.

That was all good and dandy until about two days ago when Starbucks finally called me and set up an interview.

I’m a huge people pleaser, so I’m scared that if Starbucks were to offer me a job, that my current job would be upset with me leaving considering they just helped me out in order to keep me. So with that, could anyone give me any advice on what it’s like to work at Starbucks and if it’d be worth it?

I don’t agree with my current jobs values and they’re incredibly strict, and I just feel like I’d enjoy Starbucks more. Obviously I’m used to a very high paced work environment, so that’s no issue. Would just like some current / former employee help!

Honestly, do what’s best for you. Sure, they tried to accommodate you, but it’s in their best interest to do so. If you think you’d like Starbucks better and you like the vibe when you interview and you agree with Starbucks values more, go for it! If the people at said unnamed chicken place are upset with you, that’s on them. I know that’s hard when you want to make everyone happy, but you gotta take care of yourself and do what’s best you you!

As a Starbucks barista who frowns upon a few of a certain Christian chicken place’s philanthropical endeavors, I think you should skrrrt on over to that interview real quick.

It varies, sbux is a great job to have due to benefits but you will become a slave to the siren.

Understandable, I’m already a slave to the chicken so I think I’d rather coffee. 😂

Be prepared for general customer service fuckery and understaffing, but it's not your first rodeo so I think you got this!

I mean I’ve never worked at Chik-Fil-A so I can’t speak to which you’d like better, but it sounds like Starbucks is prepared to give you more hours and they probably pay the same so

Just leave. Trust me your current place doesn't give af about you. Your replaceable to them. Go where you are happiest and only please yourself.

Any manager i have ever worked for at Starbucks loves to welcome the workers who have been conditioned to say my pleasure. However, the siren in my area pays $2 less an hour than the chicken and lol s at you of you want Sundays off. Its honestly up to you to weigh the pros and cons.
