I’m so conflicted. (self.starbucksbaristas)

I really really loved my job when I started, but especially recently it seems like the company and/or higher management is caring more for their customers than their employees. I’m so scared of catching COVID. I’m very depressed. But I still give my all to them and they don’t give it back. I’m tired bro.

I kinda wanna quit but I have no idea where I’d go :(

I started scheduling a weekend off per month for mental health. If you can, take off a day or two every now and then and take care of yourself. I even put 'mental health' in the comments so it's guaranteed to get accepted.

If your state has an Amazon fulfillment center, start applying there to see if you can become either a warehouse employee or a delivery driver. They pay pretty well and you're going to have much less contact with the public.

Apply to be a shipt shopper. If you have a Meijer, Whole Foods or Target or other stores in the area, they are looking for people.

Apply to be a poll worker on November 3- that's at least a day that you can work and a lot of states will pay their civil workers.

Check out the USPS near you to see if they're hiring; you'd be a government worker; the pay is decent and some employees make upwards of $20/hour. Even during the government shutdown, the USPS kept working. They have warehouse, sorter and mail carrier positions.

Look for admin jobs in your area on indeed; they're a great way to get your foot in the door and your customer service work can be super helpful in being an admin- sunny personalities, able to take direction and execute quickly, and all that.
