Hours (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hey guys I have a question regarding hours. Not for myself, but a lot of my fellow partners have only been getting one day or two days a week. They also have been given 2.5 to 2 hour shifts. They all want more hours and yet my manager insists and even told me yesterday he is still hiring. We have already a lot of partners and some haven’t been given any hours in weeks. Is this all within policy? I work in a CA Corp store if that helps.

What in the everlasting fuck? Is there something crucial missing from this info? Why would a manager do extra work to hire people when he's suuuuper problematically overstaffed?

So anyone who was hired as a full time partner should be getting no fewer than 32 hours on average unless they changed their availability after hiring to be part time. And Starbucks does not maintain employment of people who can generally work fewer than 12 hours per week. And the minimum shift length per policy is 4 hours.

That's what your manager should be basing hiring and transferring decisions on. Definitely speak to him (I assume you have already?) and your DM, and PCC if you're not satisfied with their answers. Because you're right, that sounds like absurdity.

Not at all acceptable. Call the partner self help line and lodge a formal complaint. Hopefully, someone will investigate.

Yes, of course. I truly hope your situation improves. Times are stressful enough without some unnecessary crap happening within the company's ranks.
