ok so basically this is my second week, and i just got paid and it was about $280. we get paid every 2 weeks and i work about 20 hours a week, so i should get paid for 40 hours right? so $13 an hour for 40 hours...it should be at least $400 but i only got $280. am i missing something orrrr

They're taking out your taxes. It should be on the payslip how much was removed.

no matter what job u work at, your first check will be short bc of the timing. they should regulate and reflect your worked hours more as your checks come in. this is especially true if your started on an off pay week. i didn’t get my first sbux check until my third week and it was waaay shorter than i expected

It sounds great but it doesn’t even cover rent in my area of so cal. The cost of living is ridiculous so min wage has to be higher. Rent for one bedroom apt in a non crappy area is like 1500 a month and that doesn’t even cover food or electricity or car payments. Los Angeles it’s $15 per hour for minimum wage I believe, their cost of living is even worse
