I’ve been a barista trainer for a few months and I’ve trained several people before, but I transferred recently and I’m now training the first person at my new store. they do everything super by the book, unlike my old store, and I was really struggling today to properly train my trainee on CS. it’s my least favorite position, and while I can do it fine myself it was just hard for me to train someone on. and I felt like my manager could tell. I’m just feeling like I’m in over my head. And I dropped a whole pitcher of sweet cream on the floor while we were training and had to play it off like it was no big deal when on the inside I wanted to cry I was so embarrassed.

Sending you love and support 💕💕 no one is perfect and I’m sure your new manager doesn’t expect you to be. You’re taking on a challenge and sticking without despite your doubts for the sake of your trainee and team and that’s something to be proud of!! Think about how your sweet cream spill will make your new green bean feel a whole lot better the first time they drop/spill something!

During my first few shifts, someone on bar dropped entire pitchers/bags of milk. My trainer did it while training me as well. Her nonchalant reaction to it made me feel tons better when I ended up doing it myself. You did good 👍

Heck yeah, this is exciting lol. During Christmas when our line was out the door for an Xmas parade my manager and I were double baring. We lost control of a pitcher and it dumped two bags of milk all over us.
