What extra things are you doing to keep yourself safe from covid while at work? (self.starbucksbaristas)

We all know it’s not the safest job to do right now when there’s a pandemic going on, so why not share what you are doing to keep yourself safe during this time?
I keep alcohol wipes in my car and wipe down my phone after every shift before heading home. This of course, on top of constant hand washing and new masks every morning!

Not taking orders from customers who won’t wear masks, telling customers to just speak up instead of pulling their mask down when I can’t hear them, and generally not allowing customer fuckery.

I don’t talk to anyone in drive more than I absolutely have to if they don’t have a mask on. Shifts and sm are getting real tired of me not ConNECtiNggggggg...but they can kick rocks tbh 🤷🏻♀️

Safety is way more important than customer connections. If anybody tries telling me to “cOnNeCt” I’m gonna snap so fucking fast. I’m so terrified of getting this thing and being forced on window even though I ask to be taken off doesn’t help

My store stopped regularly checking partner temperatures and washing hands every 30 minutes like 3 months ago. I still do it on my own. I also don't touch my face anymore as like a reverse habit. If this thing is completely airborne, it's inevitable that I'll get it - but I'm not going to eat it or put it in my eyes.

I wear goggles and KN95 masks. I may look silly but I want to be safe. Also, the other partners at my store don’t care about their safety so I’m treating them like they’re diseased too. You stay safe out there!

i make it a habit to wipe down the monitors and POS stuff because literally no one else will at my store. i come in and they are so crusty and disgusting i dont even want to put my hands on it. i also wipe down my keys, phone, shoes, and my car’s steering wheel as much as i can every day

I wash my hands before and after my shift, keep my vitamins c intake up, use alcohol wipes my phone and glasses don’t talk to customers unless they wear masks, don’t go outside unless the their not a lot of customers sitting and eating
