so i just started working at starbucks two days ago and guys. my legs hurt so fucking bad at the end of the day holy shit. both days were 9-5 with a 30 min break. Is this normal or do i just have really weak legs lol. and if anyone else has experienced this how long until you get used to standing so much?? thanks in advance!
edit:this is my first job btw

Normal! Definitely make sure you've got some supportive shoes and possibly comfy insoles. Can't say how long it'll take to even out, but you'll notice that your legs and/or feet will start hurting again after extended periods once your shoes and insoles start to wear out. It will be sooner than you expect!

Remember to stretch! Before and after your shift. It’ll help relieve some pain from being on your feet each day. Make sure you have good shoes! And drink lots of water too!

Get some good shoes!!! It’ll get better though I promise 💞

Idk which country or region you work in but I'd highly reccomend the memory foam non-slip Sketcher shoe line. It's super helpful when I'm mopping and the memory foam really eases my legs. Wish you the best of luck!

When I came back from my isolation, my thighs were really sore for a while. I didn’t notice how many squats I casually did at work.

Yeah my legs killed when I first started and I was usually only working 4-5 hour shifts. I also have been working for years and have previously done work that I thought required being on my feet a lot, but did not compare to this (granted I’m older than I was at some of those other jobs and in worse shape physically). I did find getting some good insoles helped. Just hang in there :)

Look into supportive insoles/shoes made for working in. It will likely help, though you’ll still have to get used to it.
