why do they calculate labor based on number of customers and not sales (self.starbucksbaristas)

like sundays are so brutal because whatever they use to calculate how much labor we get just looks at the number of customers and not how many products they’re each ordering. when we’re making like twice as much money per customer because we’re making twice as much product and therefore putting in twice as much labor why would that not be taken into account? when each customer represents a family of 5 each ordering a different Frappuccino that’s way different from the weekday morning rush of more or less 1 drink per person. idk man I’m just sick of it

Exactly. Like every car is AT LEAST a $25 order but they still expect us to hit the same DT times we have during the week

Because we’re robots that can produce as many drinks from one order with 10 items and another with 2 and if you can’t it’s because you’re out of sequence.

One of the biggest reasons I left Starbucks after nearly 6 years. I was tired of getting yelled at for pointing out a single coffee and an extended family of frappucinos require different amounts of labor.

They actually changed this a while back. Labor is calculated by how many items are produced in any given time frame. I would ask your manager to see the labor recaps so you can see what’s being forecasted vs scheduled vs earned
