Career Advice Needed (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by dc8293
I need some career advice:

Have any of you applied for (and gotten) a position or promotion that you weren’t 100% qualified for? I’m a shift supervisor at Starbucks and accidentally submitted an application for a district supervisor position. 😳

I meet MOST of the requirements from previous work experience, but I’ve never been in charge of multiple retail stores at once.

Should I withdraw the application or should I keep it out there and just see what happens? 😬

( I was only filling out the application to see what kind of things they were looking for. I didn’t mean to hit submit 😭)

If you don't feel ready for it, please don't put yourself in a position over other people. You'd be in charge of a lot of people, and if you aren't sure that you can support so many people as they need to be supported, don't risk doing harm

I'm sure a bunch of people in this sub have stories of DMs they wish weren't in that position
