I finally snapped (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by misguidedghostman
Well my fellow partners! I finally snapped today, and I’m sure as hell going to get fired for it today!
I was attending a couple who regularly visits us through drive. Once they got the window, they were being snobby and weren’t wearing a mask. They continued being snobby and asking for thinking one by one and so I started getting really frustrated.
Then the husband who was driving tried giving me his cheese danish back and said “warm this up more”. I told him we couldn’t take things back. He said “I said warm this up more”. I told him sternly now that “unfortunately I’m not allowed to take food back but I can just give you a new warmer one”. He made a weird face and left the cheese danish on the counter.
I immediately pushed the cheese danish off the counter and said “I’ll be right back with your new one”.
Then I came back, he said “this is MUCH better” and his wife got off the car, picked up the cheese danish off the floor, and put it back on the counter. I told them to have a nice rest of their day.
Soo yeah.... no idea what came over me at that moment.

I recommend just lying when asked about this. Say they threw it on the ground lol

You won't get fired. Even if they called to complain you could just say you don't really recall that interaction. Mayyyyybe you \~vaguely\~ remember having to grab another pastry for someone on the fly when they wanted it toasted but beyond that 🤷. Any time I've had a negative customer encounter that I thought I'd hear about later, nothing ever happened. A customer came in from drive thru to complain about me to a SM's face once and after she left he just said, "don't worry about it," to me and that was that. These things usually seem bigger in the moment.
