After 5 years I learned that creme base in coffee is cool, coffee base in a creme often ends up with the customer wondering what the weird taste is.
eat-reddit-tv4 points2y ago
I love this cute dance, but giving people the wrong base makes me sad.
howdudo4 points2y ago
as someone who never drinks fraps can u tell me what u know that i dont know about that frap base flavor?
heartashley105 points2y ago
Now these are the Starbucks tiktoks I like to see
dancing_durian80 points2y ago
I mean, if we wouldn’t constantly run out of coffee bases.
staynappin8 points2y ago

Me after I free-pour refreshers and iced teas straight into the cup (no shaker) 👋👁👄👁
isglitteracolor42 points2y ago
I don’t mind the free pour, but not shaking seriously makes the teas taste shitty and lukewarm with a puddle of syrup at the bottom.
gabbysafari5 points2y ago
Nobody gets them sweetened in the Midwest anyways 🤷🏼♀️
isglitteracolor17 points2y ago
Every sorority girl in my Indiana college town begs to differ 🤷♀️
Aytrii2 points2y ago
as a barista also from an Indiana college town, i can vouch and say they absolutely get their drinks sweetened
blobinsky2 points2y ago
this is so far from true lmao
hellopie70 points2y ago
Bad, they sweet by default.
gabbysafari-1 points2y ago
Not when everyone asks for them unsweetened... which was the whole point of my comment...
junglejims432222 points2y ago
Please shake the refreshers guys. The drink looks/tastes horrible when you do this. I get teas with no liquid cane/water, but refreshers? Ghetto as hell
yung_c_o_c_o_n_u_t5 points2y ago
just to be clear cause my joke was controversial: I pour the contents into the cup including ice and then I pour it into the shaker and back and forth. Coconut drinks I alllllways shake cause they’re thicc
canidieyet_3 points2y ago
i ALWAYS shake refreshers and teas (unless it’s an unsweetened tea/refresher with no water/inclusions...then it’s pointless) and even tho it’s time consuming nobody asks for it to be fixed because it’s made right the first time. my coworkers make funky me because they all THINK they’re good at free pouring (they free pour my drinks all the time and they taste like trash—it’s at a point i want only certain people to make my drinks, if i don’t make it myself) when they go too heavy on the syrups/water/lemonade etc and too light in the actual tea or refresher base
offensivequeer20 points2y ago
Perfect compromise, IMHO and bcz its my preferred method (especially when it's busy), set them up in the cups with everything, then toss each into the shaker then the cup and back a couple/few times. If u can line them up next to the pitcher-rinser, group the ones that are the same and go to town. It also prevents things like Splenda from making that giant foam on top, and makes judging ice easy.
I only have a "thing" about shaking things with coconut milk, sweeteners like honey/agave/raw sugar, or lots of syrup/inclusions. People that don't shake those annoy the hell out of me bcz customers usually ask *me* to fix it.
Edit: BTW, their dancing is fuckin adorable
Edit^2: you can use this method *and* shake all the drinks, too, bcz the lines on all except the trenta cups correspond to the shaker lines (in practically); I just have a tendency to spill if im not stupid careful with the shaker lid, so I'm quicker with the cup-to-cup shake where I can judge by the temp of my cup-hand if it's properly mixed.
yung_c_o_c_o_n_u_t6 points2y ago
^^^^^ yes exactly
Bryancreates6 points2y ago
So I never shook my OWN iced tea/refresher mark out because I’m lazy. But I told a new trainer (after he told me that you don’t need to shake no water iced teas) that shaking it is not only so everything is mixed properly, but adds air to the mixture so the texture was different on the tongue. Kinda like how the steam wand adds air to the milk. He said he never heard that in training. Then I felt crazy because did I make that up, or was it an old school training thing before they even had books about what to do behind the bar. I couldn’t argue with the facts about training. But freshly shaken stuff even like bottled vitamin water has a better mouthfeel than without. I’m probably nuts.
ladytaters1 points2y ago
It is an old school training thing, and it's true. I may not shake my own teas when I make them but I do notice the difference in texture when I get one from someone else and it's shaken.
Unipanther3681 points2y ago
I never heard this, but it'd be good to tell new people anyway so they shake their drinks properly and don't try to take shortcuts.
crzyshiba-4 points2y ago
I do this all time lol you eventually learn how much to pour,, or you say to your self”” hmm that looks about right”
Unipanther3682 points2y ago
Bad practice, but at least tell me you shake them after free pouring them?
crzyshiba1 points2y ago
Haha of course I do,, and the free pour is usually when. Happy hour hits I prep them
Unipanther3681 points2y ago
Ah okay yay 😂😅
staynappin50 points2y ago
I rationalize it when I do this because I feel like Karen gives more fucks about her time than me individually blending all those mfs
eat-reddit-tv-9 points2y ago
But not everyone is a Karen
SkullJooce35 points2y ago
Every day all day
lilchailatte [OP]19 points2y ago
someone’s gotta do it
LZARDKING23 points2y ago
Guilty on all counts
numberonehowdareyou22 points2y ago
I batched 4 venti frapps the other day. My coworkers said it couldn’t be done. But I done did it.
