Honestly I’m more jealous they have the TIME to goof off. Every shift I’m running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off.

same!! my store micromanages SO BAD and i get so jealous when i see posts where baristas get to actually talk to fellow baristas. my store acts like if you aren’t bending over backwards working and making casual conversation (ex: i’m on bar and tried talking to the other barista on bar with me while we were slow. i was cleaning/restocking my station as was she, but apparently that’s just not allowed). it makes me sad that nobody at my store talks to each other unless it’s strictly work related, because i just want to make friends. it’s just another reason that makes me consider transferring even more.
