we hired a few new people these last couple of months, me being one of them. i love literally everyone i work with except one person. she started around two weeks ago and dear god, i don’t know.

she was DTW today and i was DTO. this was fine until we had someone drive away w/o their order and she said “AW YEAH I GOT ME A FREE CHEESE DANISH AND COFFEE” and proceeded to take off her mask and eat this cheese danish. in front of the open window. i hadn’t seen her at first since i was taking an order but once i did i told her that she can’t do that and she got an attitude but it is what it is. she was on her phone and like??? just doesn’t care. a few days ago she snatched a cup out of my hand while i was in the process of making a drink. she has had very minimal bar training so the drinks got made wrong, so not only did i have to deal with that but deal with an angry customer. she gets told by the SM to stay where she’s told, but literally did no good. She constantly talks back to the managers and it’s so frustrating because she’s rude to customer and everyone she works with and breaks every rule (she breaks dress code every time she works) and thinks she’s above everyone despite being there for two weeks and no matter how much the managers discipline her she just doesn’t care.

So, this is the point where documentation happens. Supervisors should not shrug shit off like that, this accounts for a documented coaching alongside a manager, and if it continues, a disciplinary action such as a write up. This is bs, not food safe, stealing, and 110% not what we, as baristas, are supposed to do.

I’m all about “fuck this company,” but i’m also about not being a dick to fellow partners and customers. So whoever the hell she is, she needs her attitude evaluated.

Best of luck to you though, I hope besides her, your experience so far has been nice!

exactly!!! literally everyone i work with is SO nice and she’s just so disrespectful. i’m not entirely sure if there’s been any disciplinary action (other than a warning, if that’s even counted, which i know for a fact she’s had a couple of those) or documentation but it’s just really bad. not very many of us like her and i feel awful because i know how it feels to work somewhere and be disliked but everyone but. she’s just so rude and the managers are always talking about “what they need to do” so :// i hope she comes to realize starbucks is NOT a place to get free food when customers drive off. sometimes, yeah the shift in charge will be like “keep it for later or give it away. do what u want.”

oh god i would be so fucking annoyed if she was at my store lmao. i know for a fact my partners would not put up with that we would speak up so fast

I would keep track of your bad in counters with her and once you get a big enough list ( with dates and times)I would talk to you sm

i might not need to because i overheard the managers talking earlier today about things she’s been doing and not letting her go with a “just don’t do it again”—as in she’s probably going to have actual consequences this time and not a slap on the wrist!! i’m still going to watch tho because she can’t keep acting like this

I dont work at a DT but we have someone like that. Shes always wanting to get the last word and hates being told what to do. Plus she can't use her indoor voice. It's like we're in a concert and you have to yell at everything. Its like 2 drills in your ears😔😔. Luckily they haven't been working for the fast few months but we just got work that they're coming back. Oh well🤷‍♂️ im transferring in May/June.
Best of luck buddy👍
