I didn’t even get a simple thank you from the opener 😐... all they had to do was brew the coffee and add cups and cream 😐(i.redd.it)

Meanwhile I would take a picture to send to my manager about how awesome it was to walk into this.
Love, an opener who started as a closer.

Yessss✨. The “set up the next shift for success” started with one act of kindness, and it all spiraled into goodness from there 🙃 (99.9% of the time lol)

I would have bought you lunch for such a beautiful self-less deed... (wipes away tear)

this is why I give people the energy they give me.
none of my coworkers would everrrrrr do something like this lol you're amazing though
PumpkinNoSpice [OP]10 points2y ago
99.9% of us always do nice things for the next shift. But there’s always that one person ya know🙃

I would have praised you in the group chat, told the manager, hugged you, and brought you a red bull. Red bull being the official love language of our store, to be clear.

Lol thank you😎

My closing crew did this a couple weeks ago, 12 travelers at 7am so we prepped ALL of them and ground all the coffee. Not a word about it except to complain that the customer picking them up showed up 15 minutes early.
PumpkinNoSpice [OP]2 points2y ago
Yeah sometimes it’s like that😔. I just try to treat others the way I’d like to be treated. Just sucks when they don’t say thank you like a decent human being 😐

This is so awesome!!! I would love to work with someone like you ❤️

I’ve never had any closer do this for me and my crew as openers, you’re an angel truly and just know that someone out here is appreciating you! Just wish it was your own opening partners 🙄

💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️✨✨

That's cause our store be tripping 😒

I feel my job as a closer is to get the morning ready to go.
PumpkinNoSpice [OP]2 points2y ago
Yes it is. Just like openers clean and prep night crew. A little thank you would’ve been nice. Bc technically, all I had to do was write a note alerting them about 2 travelers coming for 15 minutes after the store opens. All of that, was extra I didn’t have to do.
Imnewtoit2 points2y ago
Oh totally. I think a thank you goes a long way. I am sorry if I what I said was coming off as negative. I think one of the struggles I have in my store is that my closing partners do not get the kudos they deserve but the "peak performers" have no issue pointing out when we miss something.

Did you write on the counter? We can do that?
PumpkinNoSpice [OP]5 points2y ago
You sure can! Chalk makers! You can order it through York or buy them cheap on Amazon! They wipe away clean with a wet rag! That’s how you write on menu boards and things. I write on the countertops for my closing baristas to make sure all our closing tasks get done! You can use chalk markers on the fridges and freezer too! They’re literally amazing lol.
ih8yogurt2 points2y ago
So you can write on the stainless with them? And your sm is ok with it?
PumpkinNoSpice [OP]2 points2y ago
Yup! After we wipe down our fridges and freezers in the back, I write on the front of them what is in there, and how it should be organized. My DM loves it. Especially when we change colors for seasons and holidays. For Halloween, I got these $1 window clings to put on the freezer for decorations 😬. Just like countertops, it wipes away just as easily on stainless steel. No left over marks or residue when you wipe it off🙃.

Really hoping my store will let me do this.
