Corporate contact info for possible discrimination (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sbuxthrowawayyyy
Not a partner yet but I'm hoping to be so I figured that this was the best place to ask for an email to contact regarding this issue.

I've been applying for Starbucks jobs and a store manager recently contacted me requesting an interview. We scheduled a time and date for it then I asked for disability accommodations for the interview. The manager says that the position has filled up with internal transfers that they were forced to take in so they'll have to cancel the interview.

The timing is VERY suspicious so I'd like to contact corporate to ensure that this is exactly what happened not the manager discriminating based on disability. This is a very common issue with my disability in where the interview is cancelled after requesting accommodations but I thought Starbucks would be better than that. Please don't specifically mention my disability in the comments if you've figured it out.

So yeah, I need a corporate email to contact and forward my emails with the SM. I tried the applicant accommodations one but it appears that it's just for people who have issues with using the online application portal.

Edit: Yes, I still want the job despite this because being unemployed sucks.

One recommendation I might give is to call or go to one of the stores in the area and request the District Manager’s phone number and call them since they’re above the SM that canceled the interview on you. There’s a line for partners to call, but since you’re not a partner (yet), I don’t think they could help you. I’d try the DM.

Thank you! Would a partner be able to look up the DM's contact info in the system even if they work in a different area? I have some friends who are current partners who are pissed about my situation.

Potentially? They might be able to look it up through the hub. The easiest way that I’ve found is to have someone call one of the stores in the district, but you could have one of them poke around the hub for you!

I will say while it’s 100% possible the sm is an awful person who WAS being discriminatory my store is also primarily hiring transfers over new hires because of partners at other store in our district are either closed or have very few hours to go around. Also most managers (at least in our area) try not to hire so close to the holiday chaos.

Gotcha - the friends who are current partners that I told about this issue work on the opposite coast and said they had never heard about anything like this but I feel a little better knowing that it's happening in some districts.

Definitely contact the DM. I’d go to another store to ask for the info.

Unfortunately, there has been a lot of internal shifting happening due to a bunch of factors (not just the pandemic). We had some stuff like that going on in our district.
