Weekly update about the raise in case your store hasn't printed it out yet.(imgur.com)

Kinda sucks, I was hired In the beginning of October, guess I won’t be seeing any changes to pay. I know many suffered awhile at a low wage but having it change from 9 to a bit more would be so nice. Dx
ttsukihime10 points2y ago
same tbh, i was looking forward to the raise until i read that
guess i'll stay at 9 an hour
[deleted]13 points2y ago
I think if they raise the pay for new hires then they should raise the pay for those that were just hired before this update. It’s only fair. Even if that percentage is small - make us feel like this place is worth our breath.
subaruforesters6 points2y ago
I really hope they do that. I won't feel great about working there if I'm the only one in the store making minimum wage.
NOTcreative-8 points2y ago
They will. All partners are at least at the starting pay rate. If that pay rate goes up, it goes up for those partners. You can’t have anyone in the system below the starting pay rate.
[deleted]2 points2y ago
I’m certain you will get the 5% raise
NOTcreative-15 points2y ago
FYI store managers do not have all the information yet. We get it next Monday. The 10% and 11% raises are the minimum increase but there will also be market specific adjustments. If the starting pay rate goes up, partners hired after September 14th will be at the new, higher starting rate.

Thank you for this info. I didn't get to really chat with my SM today. He's been so stressed and busy that I feel bad when I interrupt him. Especially since he's the type to make sure we look at important information, sign up for things available to us, and check in on us. So I figured if he had more information not in the weekly update, then he'd tell us.
NOTcreative-7 points2y ago
Yeah it’s all pretty ambiguous for us now. The update contained more information than we even initially got on Friday. We will be planning 1 on 1 conversations for all partners about how the pay increase will effect them individually, probably beginning the schedule we post next week. We’re all very anxious to get all of the details for our specific market. If you want you can go onto the hub and under weekly communications, print out the statement from Rossann

Do you think the new increase in pay will end up with less man hours per worker as well? That’s what I am afraid of. I am a green bean (started early August) so I’ve never dealt with any raises at the siren yet
Improvmomolyfe2 points2y ago
How would one qualify for more than the standard percent?
4filth3 points2y ago
it’s not “standard” it’s a minimum
Improvmomolyfe3 points2y ago
Some may qualify for the 10% and I qualify for the 11%. Hence the usage of the word.
DreadandButter9 points2y ago
frankly an insultingly meager amount.
GrandpaCody7 points2y ago
As a shift of almost 5 years that left making 11.83, a $1.30 raise isn’t worth anyone’s effort. I make 17.70 an hour babysitting a machine wrapping cheese and it’s basically the same thing. Starbucks is trying so hard 🙄 I feel bad for the rest of the baristas that are going to be dealing with covid AND the holidays, they sure can shell out a hell of a lot more money for you guys
[deleted]2 points2y ago
Shifts get an extra 5% on top of the 11% you would get for having worked more than 3 years. Not $17 but a pretty big jump in wages.
doggomom13133 points2y ago
This 5% extra for shifts, is that in the weekly update somewhere or did your SM tell you? I’m just curious
[deleted]4 points2y ago
It says in the update that the gap between barista and shift pay will be bigger, but yes, my Sm told me the premium would be an additional 5%
wtchtrsh3 points2y ago
I’m also curious where you got that info..
imvni57 points2y ago
Dang I was hired before the 14th but didn’t start until a week after. I wonder if it’ll still count.
Animuthrowawayplz [OP]4 points2y ago
It is probably based on hire date? You can look that up on one of the partner hubs or teamworks. I forget which.
imvni51 points2y ago
I found it! Luckily I wasn’t hired on the 13th
Animuthrowawayplz [OP]6 points2y ago
I haven't seen the letter the update references yet. My SM just got in, so I'll make an update with it if it gets printed out.
mielmami4 points2y ago
what does “an increase in the premium we already pay above minimum wage” mean?
IdentittyCrisis3 points2y ago
It's just corporate trying to make themselves sounds like wonderful employers. It what they do all the time. Silly lingo to confuse the workers and make us think that they actually care for our well beings.
Kale-Afraid3 points2y ago
I REALLY hope it doesn’t mean if minimum wage increases $1 and our 10% raise is $1.50 that we will end up with only a .50 cent raise
mielmami1 points2y ago
i make minimum wage at my store. 🤨
Kale-Afraid8 points2y ago
Oh wait my bad we make 2 pennies above minimum. That must be the “premium” they already pay
mielmami2 points2y ago
twins 🤪🤪🤪
Kale-Afraid3 points2y ago
We do too! 🥴
submitizenkane4 points2y ago
Definition of too little, too late
subaruforesters4 points2y ago
I was hired September 16th 😖
sIowrain1 points2y ago
same here 😭
champshere4 points2y ago
That’s a joke.
G37_is_numberletter5 points2y ago
I mean, they could have just given nothing.
writersandweirdos3 points2y ago
But fuck the Shift Managers!!!
ijustneedwine3 points2y ago
I was hired beginning of October. Wtf
Flappadingo3 points2y ago
To be clear - everyone is getting a raise. Your start date determines how much of a raise. And for anyone making less than recent hires, go to your SM and demand a fix. They count on you not knowing what everyone makes to save $$ but you deserve to make at least what new hires make.
I’ll say it again. All hourly employees will see some sort of increase on their last paycheck of 2020.
DragonS0l3 points2y ago
Holy crap. I barely made the cutoff date. I started a few days before the 14th. Sucks for other people that won't be getting raises though :/
bestboah2 points2y ago
is this for licensed stores as well or just corporate?
bryceofswadia5 points2y ago
I don’t know the exact answer but I imagine it only applies to corporate stores as licensed store employees are employees of whatever store the licensed starbucks is in.
bestboah1 points2y ago
that’s what i figured, just wanted a little input. thank you

I had to leave the company during Covid when I moved states and just got rehired the beginning of this month. I’m a 7 year partner so would I get the 11% increase?
Animuthrowawayplz [OP]1 points2y ago
Honestly I don't know. I think your time resets if you leave the company. At least that's how it is for other things.
wtchtrsh1 points2y ago
The starting pay is increasing, so I think that you will get paid the new starting wage.
vanilladoubleshot1 points2y ago
Tysm for posting this! I’m off for a couple of days and I’ve been dying to read this!
TheSwimmingBrain0 points2y ago
Is this legit??? I was hired may of 2018 and started at 9.12 but I know partners in my store who were hired last year at 9.30 per hr. Feels like I'm getting jipped when my pay hasn't increased enough.
rynpickles3 points2y ago
I would maybe talk to your manager about the pay difference. Not really fair that you have a year+ seniority on some of your partners and are getting paid less.
sillaf27-1 points2y ago
Been with the company for more than 3 years. Do the 10% raise and 11% raise stack?
Flappadingo8 points2y ago
Of course not. It’s either/or.
NOTcreative-6 points2y ago
What do you mean stack? You’ll get the minimum 11% raise which will be based on your current hourly.
