free drinks (self.starbucksbaristas)

ok so green bean here, i know that we get one free food and drink mark out a day and free drinks while we’re working but i usually work nights so i like to get a coffee in the morning, but i’ll ask them to do the discount because i save my free drink to get on the way to work but they just do the drink anyways. then when i get my drink on the way to work i ask them to do the discount, since i’ve already gotten my free drink, and they do the free drink too. is it some kind of accidental loophole? or am i going to get charged for the drinks? i’m very confused and lowkey scared because i don’t want to be abusing the free drinks

You just need to be clear with the person in the morning that you don’t want to use your markout. There’s always a chance that you’ll get flagged in the system or they’ll do an audit when this is all said and done.

Here is the policy, just so you can familiarize yourself with it.

> **Temporarily expanded Partner Food Benefit (U.S. Retail partners)**

> **Whether a retail partner (store partner) worked a shift or not, through March 28th they are eligible to receive one Partner Food Benefit daily from a store that is open.** This expanded benefit is only available in person using a temporary paper Starbucks Partner Card along with photo identification, plastic Starbucks Partner Card or Starbucks Partner Card Image on the Starbucks app. Partners can also access their Partner Card and/or request a new one through My Partner Info. This benefit is not available through MO&P or Starbucks Delivers (e.g., Uber Eats).

> NOTE: The expanded Partner Food Benefit does not apply to partners who work at the Starbucks Support Center (SSC), or are not typically eligible for the Partner Food Benefit.

> Stores participating in FoodShare will continue to donate unsold food to FoodBanks and vital services providing sustenance to people in our communities.

>**Temporarily expanded Partner Beverage Benefit (U.S. Retail partners)**

> **If retail partners (store partners) are *not working*, through March 28th they are eligible to receive one Partner Beverage daily with the redemption of their food benefit from a store that is open.** This expanded benefit is only available in person using a temporary paper Starbucks Partner Card along with photo identification, plastic Starbucks Partner Card or Starbucks Partner Card Image on the Starbucks app. Partners can also access their Partner Card and/or request a new one through My Partner Info. This benefit is not available through MO&P or Starbucks Delivers (e.g., Uber Eats).

> NOTE: The expanded partner beverage benefit does not apply to partners who work at the SSC, or are not typically eligible for the partner beverage benefit.

Oh no, it really has to be a pattern to be an issue, like you’re only going to one store every day and one barista is checking you out and giving you freebies every time kinda stuff.

I THOUGHT THE FOOD AND DRINKS WERE THE SAME 😳 I’ve been getting the food mark out during my break and after my shifts SOS

You aren’t abusing it.
You get free drinks as part of your shift AND you get the daily mark out.

This is incorrect. You get one free food and drink on your days off. On the days you work, you are entitled to your regular shift food and drink benefit. So you’re not entitled to free drink until 30 minutes before your shift and up to 30 minutes after your shift at your own store.
