I'm a fairly older partner (222\*\*\*\*) , and I recently transferred to a new store because my home store did not have the hours that I needed to accommodate my school schedule. Since beginning at my new store, I have been miserable. I was greeted by coworkers who were fake nice to me and attributed my "attitude" (i.e. defending myself when a customer yelled at me for us running out of pumpkin spice) to my home store. Additionally, it seems like nobody really communicates with each other, so instances like today happen. So I show up for my opening shift (4:30AM) to see a notice on the door saying that nobody was supposed to enter the building until later in the afternoon because pest control came to spray for our bug problem. The shift removed the sign from the door and had us go in anyway. Well it reeked in there, and it was clear immediately why we weren't supposed to be in the building. We tried to open windows and doors but it was below freezing outside so that was not a sustainable solution. I worked for an hour before I started to feel like I had a headache and was nauseous, and then I was sent home. I am really not enjoying my experience with this new store and am overall not happy with working for Starbucks anymore. I want to quit but I have no idea what to say to my manager since I really just started at this store about 3 weeks ago. Any advice on how to go about this would be very much appreciated. I feel bad because I had to make my new manager go through the whole process of taking me, but it's really just not working out for me and I do not want to do this anymore. Thank you guys in advance.

being honest and transparent is the first step. reach out to your current SM/DM or even your old SM about your struggles. speaking up is hard and uncomfortable but once the hard stuff comes by then it becomes a lot easier to find a solution.

it’s worse to wait and not speak up because it’ll pile up!
