Brewer Issue (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Madame_Deadly
Anybody ever brew a full batch in an empty urn only to have the brew baskett fill up with watery grounds and then it spews down on the sides?

Somethings going on with it. Other baristas are letting shifts know and it goes through one ear out the other :/

Is any of the coffee going into the urn at all? If not, it sounds like you've got a blockage in the hole in the funnel. SWIM got a whole bean in there once and it made a big mess.

Faulty/leaky paper filter or grounds still left in metal filter could be one issue. It Could also be an issue where the grounds aren’t tamped when filling the metal filter, try giving it a few smacks on the counter to tamp the grounds and allow it to compact. Make sure it is also being ground on metal filter and with the correct bean measurements.
