howdy, u.s. east coast partner 252\*\* here. (but my latest date of hire was one year ago)

i got back from a 6 week medical LOA for my mental health mid/late september this year. i did a partial hospitalization program during that time, which helped a little, but i clearly have a lot more stuff going on than i thought. recently my therapist brought up that she's concerned and that i should think about doing a PHP again which......she has a point. honestly i'm very much not ok.

is there a limit to how many LOAs can be taken in a year/a time frame, and be approved for 2/3rd pay?? i know dealing with sedgwick will be a pain in the ass, especially for another mental health related LOA in such a small period of time, but is it possible at all??

it'd be cool to improve my quality of life / prevent a crisis or hospitalization / save my life........

thanks

Last year I was on LOA medical for 5.5 months, most of which was spent in hospital for medical stabilization. I returned mid December (I believe 12/17). In February, my central line got infected and I went downhill fast. I took another medical LOA starting March 4th, this time for 7 months for medical stabilization then to work through all levels of care. I had less than 3 months between leaves. My original leave was for medical stabilization for my eating disorder. Second leave was a combo of trauma work, treating anxiety and chronic illnesses. So both LOAs were mental health related. I got STD for both.

I do know my SM was shocked that they approved both leaves. So your mileage may very. But I know it’s possible.
