do we not charge for an added blonde shot??? (self.starbucksbaristas)

A lady came in today and ordered a tall pike with a blonde espresso shot and then when she was told the total, the customer told the partner on pos that she is never charged for a blonde shot at other stores so am I losing my mind? I’ve never heard that before?

She's either scamming you, or has only ever been to a store where a shift or manager made it a thing to not charge (against policy, I might add).
A shot here or there for a regular who looks rougher than normal, or an unusual/special case is one thing. As a regular habit, this is a good way to run up your operating costs enormously.
Apologize to her for whoever created the confusing situation (it could legit be someone who has a crush on her, or she is a karen and this appeases her, or anything in between) and offer to either make it with a normal number, or ask her for the nominal extra pennies. If it wasn't her fault, now she knows. If she is scamming you, she won't get away with it.

I’ve been here a year and a half and I know this lady always tries to get extra things for free but she really only comes in like 3-4 times a year so I’m sure this is no exception to her usual routine she was just so assertive when she said it

Lol! We aren’t in charge of the other stores protocol! I hate when this happens. Have a lady that gets a kids chocolate milk and when we charge her for a tall (because that’s the smallest for ice) she gets so mad. “I’m never charged that much.” It’s because one store rings it in as a kids hot chocolate add ice. Lol

If they get upset, say okay give me one moment let me get someone that can explain it better to you and grab your SSV or SM (if you aren’t one) because it’s their job to handle the customer complaints and help them when they are angry

i hate these customers lmao like no you are not entitled to free product just because you are hounding me. maybe next time you could offer her a blond roast instead and say a shot is by standard extra since it is an additional step in labor that isn’t being accounted for.

As far as I know there's no option to ring out a free blonde shot on the register so I'm sure she's making things up or somehow got it for free one time.
