I worked at Starbucks twice. The first time for over a year, the second time for one month.
The first time I had a lot of support and people spoke to me and checked in on me. We were a team even if sometimes I felt like the newbie that didn’t know things. By the end, I was sad to leave because of the friends I made and I genuinely loved being a barista and the challenges it came with. The second time was exactly what you’ve described. No support, only talking to tell me what to do, expecting me to do all of the crappy tasks (clean drains every single day). I even knew everything already the second time, needed very little training and it was still emotionally and physically draining. I quit very quickly. I think Starbucks heavily depends on the store you work at. The customers, whatever- you’ll always have rude ones. But having a fun supportive team is so vital to success.

ooooo I'm a relatively new worker too and honestly I'm a lot luckier than you i went through like the FULL training module but even with that its still SO hard to get the hang of literally EVERYTHING

I get what u mean.. multiple times I have left feeling like a complete waste of space and it feels like people treat me bad because I don't know shit.. just wondering weren't they the same at one point of time? Anyways I'm doing a lot better now (occasionally mess up but can do everything OK and at OK speed) so it does get better.. i hope ur coworker situation improves as well, it's so dumb how people treat new workers as incompetent when they don't know anything at the start like???
